yea map brain storming..... you amke your map and let your mates gloss it over checking it thourouhgly helping each other out.. its more of a coalition than a "map-team"

Is it to make maps or to have a team of peeps to beta test your map?

One of the inherant problems with ns maps is keeping the whole thing in the same style. Usually a single mapper working by himself has the same creative style when texturing, building, and designing the layout.

I can't think of a system that would allow you accomplish this with 6 people.
If you split them up into sections, you'll get differences in style for each section.
If you split them into catagories (texturing, building, layout, lighting etc) you will, imo, get inconsistent and different feels for each attribute.
Give it a try if you want, but to me it just sounds like you need a few people closely monitoring your progress and giving you suggestions/critisisms etc.

you get suggestions and critisism on this forum..sometimes not by the right people but most give good suggestions.

i think its a good idea...might not work but might aswell give it a try.

The reason why you would talk before u actually get down to creating a map is to get rid of some of those inconsistent feels, make sure everyone has the right idea about the areas they have been tasked to do.
Then once you have ironed out some of the problems that 'WILL' be faced by such a team then u get down to actually designing layout, what look you want in certain areas and what textures you want used.
All sections would be examind by the team to get the right look and feel the team leader wants for the map.
It would be a good experience for the people to understand what its like to work as a team.

If done the right way it could create a very good map..each mapper bringing in his/her own design and style and ideas.

I think it would be good if you split people up into mapping different sections of the map. one person to touch up with brush detail and another to texture it. this would produce a good map aslond as all of you have a copy of tha layout and understand the scale for it. then the one who "makes it look pretty" can modify the layout of each section slightly so that they fit togrther. Then texture away! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
