These changes are not final. Before the release of 1.0, we had the same thing, a thousand people deciding, without any prior information, that x element of NS 1.0 would be imbalanced.

You are doing the same thing. we do not have enough info to make a judement, no matter what you think, until we get a complete changelog or release.

Quit assuming things and trust that flay is doing right. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Ok i guess you didn't read the thread very closely. I hate to quote myself but here goes.

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I am not saying that this will not be fixed and that these changes are not final. Please spare me those type of posts.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Also i can assume whatever i want. I'm not telling flay what to do, i'm not telling flay what NOT to do. It is his game, for all i care he can make winged onos shooting spores out of their ****. It's his game and he can and will do what he feels fit. I realize that it is going to be more than just these said changes. Do i really need to type it all in caps, bold and size 10 copied and pasted 10 times. I'm not just trying to single out on Redford but some of these other people. Actually i was hoping this thread would die faster than this, but bah. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

There may be an initial period where one side will be dramtically unbalanced, but we should find and fix that before 1.1 is released. The changes that have been announced aren't even close to complete, so don't worry about it sounding like one side is going to be better then the other. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that you can't pre-balance.

    To reword a Knuth quote:

"The root of all evil is pre-balance."

OMG The One Flayra posted in my thread /swoon

Anyway mate, i don't doubt your ability to judge what is right and what is wrong with the mod (Hence why i'm playing it more than working). I understand this mod isn't balanced and will never be balanced with sides THAT differant, which is one of the greatest aspects of this mod. Keep up the good work flayra.

All it takes is a few ingenious players to unbalance a game, and I'm not talking about cheats (though they do too). Who here would have thought about the JP/Welder rush early inthe game? Who woul dhave thought about placing structures in places that they shouldn't be on a map, which shows that the maps play a large roll in this as well.

I see that one a lot. Actually, Knuth was quoting Hoare (and he did mention that, which makes it even more surprising that so many people attribute it to Knuth), and the full version is rather more subtle than the rather absolute "premature optimization is the root of all evil" usually quoted.
    Full version:
"We should forget about small efficiencies, say about 97% of the time: premature optimization is the root of all evil."
