Little Problem Installing

When I try to install NS it says I need HL/CS to be at 1.1.1.0 and mine is up to date but I think the problem is because I have Steam installed so maybe somewhere it messed with some files so the install thinks I got a lower version or no HL at all. That I think to solve the problem I need to take off Steam install NS than put steam back on? If I already answerd my own question sorry for that, also Id like to know if anyone else has had this problem? If you dont know "Steam is a beta that value has going at the moment its CS 1.6.

Only thing I can think of off hand is to check the simplest things. Make sure that your install directory is your real half-life directory. I've seen people stumped when installing a mod whenever they changed from the default directory.

Yeah. Im having this problem too. I went to my D:/Sierra/Half-life folder and installed but said i didnt have the 1.1.1.0 patch or the 1.5 cs patch. I have the 1.1.1.0 and the latest CS patch. I'm not sure it works, but I just read in another thread that a "dummy file" would work.
