File Consistency Toggle

For Pubs and Matches
Hmm... I been brainstorming a little, but can't think of a really nice way to do this.

Can anybody think of a really quick, efficient way to toggle between the NS Default Models and Custom Models for Pub and Clan Play? Maybe someone could make some wacky program that just swaps some stuff around? If nobody can think of anything better, I'm just going to make 2 .rar files with the entire model directory trees zipped up, one for defaults one for customs, and then just unrar them whenever needed. BUT if anyone's got a better idea, that'd be cool if you clued me in .

You could use .pak files. Not sure whether it compresses though. Then all you need to do is swap the pak files around everytime you want to change models.

PakExplorer should be able to make the pak files you'd need, all you need to do is make a pak file with the models directory and subdirectories in it, put the models you want in it and save it as Pak0.pak, delete the models folder (or at least the .mdl's in the folders) and put the pak0.pak into halflife/ns. If you're not sure what I mean, take a peek at the pak0.pak in the halflife/valve directory, you should be able to figure out how pak files work from there.

BTW: Any .mdl's in the model folder will be used instead of the model in the .pak file.

All I do for both NS and DoD is just have 2 installs. I have one folder that is "out-of-the-box" and one that is totally customized. When I want normal models, I just rename the default folder to "ns" and the custom to "nscust" and when I want to use custom, I name the default one "nsnorm" and the custom one "ns". It works, although having a program that swaps the folders would be nice.
