Well, if Elric is right, then that existing ability needs to have a greater effect because I sure can't notice it. Or wait...maybe it's because you never see sensory chambers first...yeah, that's it...

Seriously, create a quick lan game, use some bots, and test it. It's a 10 minute process at worst. If you have a friend, give him your ip to join. 2 minute at best, heh.
If you're a good alien player and going up against really really crappy marines.. then yea, I'd say sensory would be a nice first chamber.
I was going to write out a nice couple paragraphs of why sensory sucks.. but you've all heard that.
Basically, you need good skulks to use sensory correctly, which you probably wont find in pubbies.. and against clans they'll know exactly how to counter sensory.. it's just way to easy.
Maybe if Cloaking actually kep you cloaked while you moved very slowly (was supposed to be this way in the .04 patch but I've never gotten it to work at all) and you couldn't be picked up by MT while moving slowly cloaked.. then it would be one nice chamber to choose <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Enhanced sight and scent of fear should be combined into one ability. They have to do with the same concepts pretty much. Plus, it makes sense, and you could have a decent sensory upgrade. That and there needs to be an ability to negatate motion tracking, or motion tracking should be more like a radar, and not give the aliens position away forever. That, and, the marines should lose it when the observatory is destroyed.
the only useful ability sens chambers have is cloaking. and even cloaking has its flaws. sens at 1 hive is useless because if ONE marine gets through your ambush and builds a successful outpost somewhere, its almost guaranteed to remain his until another hive of yours is up. plus, 3 skulks ambushing cant really stop a group of 7 marines unless the marines are n00bs/cant aim.
