I Wonder If This Will Ever Happen

the future of ns?
perhaps far off in the future, when ns bots became good enough to actually follow orders... and were officially supported, it would be great to see 1v1 battles between just commanders. all other players being just bots. i guess thatd essentially turn NS into purely an RTS, but the more game modes the better i say. itd just add the possibility of playing ns if youve only got 1 person to play with... but i think would only work for marine vs marine, and special maps. i think if it ever came to this, marines would simply be fighting over resource nodes and who can upgrade and move in on the enemy base quickest. youd see jp rushes, ha rushes, hmg rushes, even siege rushes.
so yeah, i guess i just wanted to bring this topic up because ive never seen it talked about much. does anyone else think itd be cool if ns got to the point where it could be played solely from the commanders pov going 1v1 against someone? or would that eliminate the spirit of this game being an RTS/FPS?

With the bots being able to follow orders down to the line, the game will be simple enough for beginners and because they're bots, they won't have the cheek of some of the real players. This provides a learning curve for the "newbs" so they won't be "flamed" as soon as they don't build that phase gate in computer core for that group of soldiers.. There is no real learning like proper games but this is just a brilliant starter which leads onto the real games.
So when these fresh meat comes onto the server from just learning the basics from the bot game, don't abuse them for not relocating to a hive, etc just because they are new. Let them play their own strat, u might c something you've never cn done b4.
Thats the thing. There are many other RTS strategy games out there. The multiplayer social-realism thing is what makes NS so unique and so popular. By playing with bots, you'd turn it into just another RTS. And I dont think anyone wants that.
I played starcraft for a long time before I had even heard of halflife, much less NS. Because of playing starcraft for so long, I understood the commander interface and commanding came naturally to me in NS.
Instead of changing NS into something its not, more people should expand and try playing some other RTS games. Though the details might not necessarily apply to NS, the basic gameplay and experience gained in playing other RTS games will be invaluable to commanding in NS.
People just need to learn to expand their horizons, so to speak.
Think about it, you could practice comm with bots for a MONTH, and still have poor comm skills unless your own ingenuity manages to come up with the same comm solutions that the Community has already come up with.
By observing commander build order, structure placement, and gameplay strats, you SHOULD have a very small learning curve when you actually jump in the chair. That's how it worked for me, at least. That learning curve should only really be adjusting to the interface and getting used to managing the different fronts.
In fact, this theory just worked for me again a few weeks ago. I've always been on the front lines, chomping faces, slashing backs, etc. I FINALLY decided it would be fun to try Gorging for once. I took a few days to really look into how a successful Gorge actually goes about things, and when I finally said "I'll go Gorge" for the first time, we owned the Marines hardcore. I personally had held off 3 Hive assaults by proper web and structure placement, as well a huge resource flow. It was sweet, but I didn't need to play against Marine bots to learn it. In fact, if bot practice was my only knowledge base, we probably would have lost.
Put as short as possible, practicing against bots is by no means useless, given you already know and practice good methods. As for starting from scratch, however, I feel the best way to learn is to observe people who know what they are doing. And one that listens to orders, stays where you put him, builds where you tell him, welds what's needed, watches out for his teammates. You usually get one, even on pubs.
