<div class="IPBDescription">Modelling idea...</div> Okay this is just an idea I've been going through my head so I'll spit it out. Map objects can really make a new NS map look nicer... and let's face it... there aren't that many nice map objects free for the public to use in their maps. What is there... that one chair that came with NS? That's fine and dandy but perhaps a few of us modellers could join together and pump out a set of things that mappers could make use of. This isn't player models or weapon models... it's more of map objects, like chairs, cieling cameras, coffee makers, robotic arms. Things that mappers can use to spruce up their levels. The other part of this idea is in the mappers forum, where mappers can suggest things that they would appreciate to be made.
So if your a modeller wanting some practice or just a modeller who wants to help out those mappers feel free to offer your help here. This idea will only go forward if I get at least a few people who volunteer. Map objects are often quick and easy little things which don't need a ton of animations or anything. I will be working alongside any team made using my own modelling skills... and will try to keep things organized. Skinners may also be welcomed as often modellers don't want to bother or don't have the skills to properly skin their work. This will be very open ended so modellers can model what they want to from ideas posted. This won't be about deadlines or forcement to model something you don't feel like doing. The only thing I will try to emphasize is I don't want to see map objects or anything converted from other games/mods. I want modellers to volunteer not converters. No offense to any converters.... I'd just rather see original content than stuff a mapper can easily attain at their own effort.

Lets take ns_hera for example, if you put all these extras into the map and then try to play it on a server, you will recieve this error: "ns_hera differs from the servers file, server will now download the map".
The only way these ideas could work would be for natural selection to release the maps in 1.1 or a later version, so that the servers would have the changed map files also.

you know... some people do release unofficial maps.... that's kinda why there IS a mapping forum... because other people make maps which aren't in the official releases... and those map downloads can have their own map models in them.
an outdoor res nozzle....
it would fit nicely in my map...but i'm not sure if i can change the nozzle model... ohh well, at least it's suggested... (and no, i don't want to to it myself...i'm too lazy)

As I said before take all credits you want (except design <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> ) and do whatever you want to the model as long as you send me a copy or tell me where I can download it
And PLZ... try to stay as close to the design as possible THX
If anyone still is intrested of makin this model just tell me and I will make pictures from different angles to get i right. Ive said it before but to be clear i say it again.
- Everyone is allowed to model/skin this dropship as long as they try to stay as close to the original design as possible as well as send me the finished model and possibly beta versions of it.
- When sending it to people or uploading to ftp's include a readme where I get the credit for the design aswell as my email. (This is my first design work so some feedback would be nice)

(At the back of the ship there will either be an container attached for trooptransport or a "claw thingie" to carry vehicles.
The ship doesnt use a landing gear. Instead it attaches to a "pillar" in the roof when docking (picture will come later) also a picture with a dripship with nosemounted gattling gun will come.
Maby I should create a new topic about this <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> but I hate all those "Request" threads.

Am I right about this. What you asked for is a so called prefab library.. right?
NS related things that can be used to touch up maps.
Then you dont have to skinn it all really. The mapbuilder can use whatever wad he whants for some items, unless they are very special items such as dropships and so on. And surley the NS default wad should have alot of textures that can be used for many different prefabs.
Or am I missing the point completely.
(Btw. Since this all takes place in the same so called universe it would make sence that some things show up in several maps.)
