<div class="IPBDescription">ways to practice and train as comm</div> I want to start this topic because commanding is essentially an entirely different game than "Half-Life".
There needs to be more support from experienced users to help the rest of us be able to experience this awsome game that the creators of NS have made, instead of yelling at us when we try it out and don't do so good.
-one way I've found to practice is to set up your own game either through "multiplayer--->create game" or "lan", But I don't know how to turn off the "game won't start until each team has players" option and if it is on you can't build anything as commander but can still get used to using the interface and navigating the map.
-if anyone could tell how to turn off this option, "game won't start until each team has players", it would be greatly appreciated, 'cause then you can also practice building everything, figuring out good placements, seeing what each structure does, andeven spawning all the cool weapons for yourself and testing them out
(recommended for the jetpack).
-respond to this topic if you want the overall gaming experince to continue to enhance and grow, I think this game is near genius on it's concept and setup and can just imagine what it could be like with a bunch of good commanders out there that actually had plans for each map and knew how to command squads.

One tip is when you are covering an attack group with med packs and ammo, open doors for them! this is done by clicking on the door twice (double click) not the switch, the actual door (works on lifts too) this way, they wont have to have the, one opens door others cover situation that slows these guys down.
Its also fun to scare aliens by opening doors like in their hive or next to them, open a door to one side of an alien and have your marines attack while his back is turned.
-Create a game on LAN on any map you prefer
-type in console "sv_cheats 1" wihtout the quotes
About the sv_cheats 1, does anyone notice that building additional ResNodes doesn't affect res income?
Another way to comm (with other players to help you):
-Join a server with 2-3 players (including you is 3-4)
-Say you are kinda new to NS and would like to try comming
-Other marine player will probably help you out with what to build and where ot build
-This is probably the best way to learn how to comm
-A way to learn comm strats is observe what good comms (games which marines win, and the comm communicates with team) build and where...
