My Complete Config File Disappears

I've been playing NS for about 4 or 5 months now. Everything was great till I just installed XP Pro. I did a clean install of everything HL, NS, CS.....everything....but when I try to play NS all the buttons become unbound! I shut down NS and go into the config file to see what the hell is up and it's COMPLETELY BLANK! Not a damn thing in there! I reinstalled NS over the original install but the same thing keeps happening. I start the came....find that everything is unbound, go into the controls thing in NS...set everything up.....start the game again...and POOF everything is gone again...happens over and over. Does anybody have a clue why this might be happening?

    We'll most of the controls are set in the "Config" menu. The rest of the commands are usually created in the config file when you join a server and play.

    Join a server for a few minutes and leave again. It should have stuff in the "congfig" file now.
