With that said...I need to get this out.
Thank you flay, your God, or somewhere close. You and your team have produced the most amazing modification for half life to date. You have somehow been able to create a war, without the war (I will explain this later).
-War-
Your modification creates a special type of game play where camping, is the last thing you want to do. Something many other modifications still struggle with. Your modification plays off of our wildest imagination, dreams, and fears...but does this in a way where we still feel human enough to play it again.
-War, Without The War-
Today, the president of my country has declared war on another country. Being the person I am, I join a CS server with about half of my dormitory. before you fly off the handle, talking about the evils of CS, take this into account, most of the people in my dormitory can't play NS, they don't understand the game play, and all but me and one other person, didn't have half life until about 3 weeks ago. We play CS together, and have a fun time teaching/learning together, it's put a new life on CS. but today, CS is full of a new breed of idiots. People saying things like "I don't want to be Muslim, I want to be CT", and "I wish this game had bombs like real life does"...I have decided that I should no longer play CS until the war has cooled down a little.

But Natural Selection, this is a place where world conflicts can NOT influence game play. Mostly because we don't have aliens down here attacking us, something I’m not seeing in our near future. There is no "alien sympathizer" complaining about being marines, and no marines comp.... never mind. But still, you have created a modification where complaints are to a minimum, cheating is also minimal, updates are frequent, and most of all, you have a close knit community where the focus is on game play, and not trash talking that "hacking" opponent.

it's remote hosted... on my website, and when i changed servers, i deleted it, i know of the problem, but haven't bothered to hunt down the avatar located on my hard drive....

Please people... just because there is something better than CS in certain areas doesn't mean CS sucks. If you're not playing it because of stupid comments by other people playing, then you shouldn't play any online game. You can't escape stupid people. Wait. That's not totally true. You can't escape stupid people by playing NS instead of CS. However, you can attempt to avoid them with some success by finding a server with mature regulars.
I go from CS (re-read example used above) to play "America's Army"...now you may ask "shouldn't AA be more full of pro-biased id10ts?" but I provide you the situation as this:
-As Experience on an AA server-
A - "Wow, we really are going to war"
B - "Yeah, scary isn't it"
C -" yeah, kind of makes me not want to play this game anymore......"
A - "Yeah, kind of"
B - "...scary how realistic this game is now"
C - "yeah, but hey, it's better than Doom"
now, this is a made-up conversation, mostly because I don't remember what game he said, but the tone in the games of AA (the 3 I played in) were very somber, and the game play was very slow, and planned out. Nothing near the frenzy that CS is in...
CS is a "GOOD" modification; it's the level of intellect in its players, the planning of the creators, and the real-world influence of the game that I am slightly dissuaded about. It's a mighty fine mod, I’m making a website about it, I’ll support the mod, I just won't support the pro-war/pro-prejudice players that it attracts in times of war.
NS is a "GOOD" modification because it somehow separates itself from what's happening in the world. And you have to agree, the game play is stellar. In fact, I’m ALSO making a website for this mod too... (Part of the site is up........link in sig)
this is meant to be a commentary on how well the game was designed and conceived...not an analysis of the maturity levels of computer game players that chose the half life engine for their owning grounds, although the psychological analysis would be rather interesting... but then again, I don't want to do the study work on that one <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I do agree that because you/someone you know is Muslim, that they NOT a terrorist, I still feel bad for quoting someone’s slanderous, prejudice comment... and I am sorry. If I had enough balls to dedicate myself to God as much as you do, I would be Muslim, but I’m lazy, and prefer not to declare a faith.
As for CS well we all know what the avrage CS players IQ is (somthing between 2 and -1) and as alot of childern play it they are easly influanced in what they think and do. By the way i know there is alot of smart CS players out there but the fact is the majorty are not as bright as others.
This topic should have been posted in the very bottem forum tho because its not about NS and its on a serious topic.

I agree with you that CS is a great game. Try playing it with your friends at a LAN, much fun.
I think what most people hate about it are the people, that's all really.

no that is YOUR opinion, i do not agree at all, actually i dont agree on the part where retarded meets quake3, if u dont like fast hardcore gameplay then go play ut2k... Mind you, with the good come the bad. I keep getting just plain annoyed with CS players who've come across to NS and refuse to change their gameplay. This isn't to say though that everyone who converts is bad; far from it. It's just NS is now starting to be infested with the same aforementioned 9 year old deathmatchers.
