I've said it before, and I'll say it again: What kind of alien has its eyes inside its mouth? The model has eyes on the outside of its head. Why does it see through its teeth? Is there another set of eyes in there? Are the outside eyes just decoy eyespots? What gives? I think they should lose the teeth altogether. Put a little snout at the bottom of the screen instead.

this is an old topic but in response to that, its basically to put a skill cap on/ balance.

I'd say it is cheating, because the Marine vs Skulk gameplay was balanced for muzzle flash, removing it is giving yourself an unfair advantage over the enemy.

Why, oh why, do people feel the need to drag these things back up?

    1) The skulk's POV is the way it is for immersion. No one ever complained about the AvP alien's headbite.

    2) The bite animation serves as a minor balancing element to the skulk's 75-damage primary attack.

    3) The bite animation will be faster in 1.1.

    Let this die.

It *should* be possible to lock specific console settings with WWCL or something simmilar (used to enforce settings in CS; I don't like it but what the hell).

It should be real easy to get rid of "rate xxxx" hacker, whatever that is, since HL servers can be set to both a client-side min and max w/r/t rate.

Oh and you're all wrong and stupid and I'm right etc etc blah blah

Oops, forgot to add a couple of "nub", hope you can overlook that

cheating, file consistency is on to avoid this kind of thing, cheating is having any kind of advantage denied normally to others.
