I got it to work, but it's not really...
There is a way, I got it to work, I am removing my previous post because I would want people to use their heads and figure it out (it isn't that hard really) You have to emulate the effect, therefore use a entity that switches textures when you use it. func_button It's reletivly simple, I hope you figure it out. It has to start turned on, but read my next post and you can make it seem as if turned off.

update = nope, not my .rad file, it doesn increase it brightness a tid bit, perhaps starting on and turning off, but that would completely distrupt the purpose of this map, unless I wanted to add a trigger to undo it, interesting if I could get it to work.

Or you could just use the lastest build of Merls compile tools and Laurie's FGD.
Have a look around Valve-ERC, I'm sure you'll find it eventually

Yeah, using Cagey's version of Merl's custom build of Zoner's Half-Life Tools, you can have actual, real switchable textured lights now.

The documentation for Merl's custom build still applies to Cagey's version, and details how to do this without trying to resort to the bad-looking 'emulation' using point entities.

It's not bad looking, can I have a direct link or something?

err thanks, see the problem with mine is that it works for 3 seconds, and then goes dark, 3 more seconds, then goes bright. I use func_buttons and the delay before restart is a pain in the caboose. It chooses not to work, I'll try those tools out thou, could really help me.
