Counter To Jet Rush

well it seems that many of us alien players fear the prospect of a jet rush 5 mins into the game. counters such as lerks, skulks, at best only manage to fend them off if they make a few mistakes. however, after the rush, what do you do? if you fend the rush off, your almost guaranteed a win, especially if there was a lone gorge away from the chaos at the hive busy capping res and setting up a new hive. BUT, a much easier (and funny) way of doing this is the minute a scout reports jets, EVERYONE save 2 skulks go gorge. thats right ALL GORGE. start spraying. get 3 dcs and cara, rush marine base. at that point after the jetrush, marines are thinking "we'll just keep rushing since the hive is already low on health." they are busy giving out more jps. thats the time to rush em with mass gorges. 5 gorges healing each other non stop and 2 skulks rampaging ahead is a force to be reckoned with. and surprisingly, it works. very well. especially when the minute they reach marine base, each gorge plops down an ot or dc. very deadly. very effective. very funny. <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Potential Flaw: Fatties are slow and make easy targets, especially if they have HMGs. The carapace might buy you a few seconds if they're dumb enough not to focus fire.



    Edit: Whoops, well the follow up usualy is easy since a rush leaves the comm strapped for cash. Its STOPPING the rush thats the hard part.

    uummm.. if anything this rush will be harder after a jp rush.... they have saved rsr throughout the entire rush giving them enough to re equip... even if they dont.. they have all just died and are spawned in their main base... i mean.. if you can rush and win now.. you would have been able to rush and win throughout the entire game anyways.. Just food for thought

    in my experiance in clan jet rushes, the marines have NO rts save the one in base simply because the fastest build order to jets (ip, armoury, arms, proto, sell arms jps) do not allow ANY rts at all. NO other point is spent on ANY another thing to ensure a rush within 5 mins. no hmgs, no gls no nothing except lvl 1 marines against carapaced gorges. and the 2 skulksa re there for a reason, and it is to keep marines from shooting the gorges. example in caged, letsay a failed jet rush on gen hive. the gorges (around 5) rush marine base, and at the entrance, each plops down one ot (should have enough res since the jet rush took some time to fend off) all spamming heal like rabid pigs. try it before you bash it. youll be amazed at how quickly marine base falls.

    not if the whole marine team goes (around 6-7) and starts emptying their clips into the hive 5 mins into the game.

    Anyways, a gorge rush is powerful whether or not the marines have just finished a JP rush. Just make sure the marines don't suspect it or catch it early. My team was almost destroyed by a 4 gorge 2 skulk rush once. I think we lost a proto lab and our IP was damaged badly. We managed to kill off all of the gorges tho, so it kind of evened out res-wise. We were slow that game and the aliens gorged rushed us twice before we managed to save enough res to Jp/HMG their butts to oblivion.

    we did one successful rush and won that game. next game the marines *LOL* got one gl by sacrificing everything else and blew up 5 gorges lolz.
