The two most common forms of custom model cheatingng are 1) "spiked" models - these models include very large spikes protruding a great distance from the model, which stick through walls and reveal ambushing players.
2) specially colored skins - skins that are bright white or pink to show up even in dark rooms are the most common example of this. More devious (though it only works in games with locational damage, like CS) are skins that color a certain part of the model - the head, for instance - an unnatural color, like bright green or pink. These skins are used for aimbots that key onto that color, giving you a headshot every time.
I never heard of #2 <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Even with Mp_consistancy 0 NS should have restraints on how big models are to prevent #1...

An interesting counter to the color-coded aimbot has also shown up over time - people occasionally use sprays that are that color, which effectively confuses the aimbot. The reason it works is that the color used is one you'd never see in a normal CS map - when you add that color in a spray, you mess up the aimbot. (:
These are old generation aimbots based on color. The new ones place themselves between the engine and the client dll to get the coordinates of players...

ive seen color coded aimbots at work, it was kinda funny when my mouse was being pulled twards a central point of my wallpaper that happened to be #FF0000. but of course it couldnt trail ahead of the target and always missed if there was any motion at all. (this was for tribes, so dont claim i cheat NS <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

do people actually want to ruin NS gaming by cheating?!?
i mean *screw CS, but "NS?!?" who would wanna mess w/ NS?!?
perhaps i'm so addicted to it that i would fight to protect it <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
