If not, a request?
As you may have guessed, I'm interested in NS mapping. However, the learning process is slow as of now. I was right quick able to get a working readyroom, a CC, some spawns and hives up, res nozzles, etc. from the NS quickstart guides and what-not. There are, however, a few roadblocks I forsee. 1 would be weldables. It's not totally coming togther, I dunno why - I want a simple example of a weldable that closes/opens a door. Another thing would be commander mode. I've looked at commander mode in my test map and it seems to have done the "top-down room opening" for me, which is all nice and dandy, but I forsee problems with just letting the game handle it and would like to know more specifics as to how to handle Commander View.
ANYWAY, with alot of adding, compiling, testing, tweaking, repeat, I would learn what I could learn in a matter of minutes by being able to play around with a "template" map. So, if one exists, could someone please point me to one? If one doesn't, I'm afraid I have a small request .
Could you all-mighty NS mapping gods take 5 minutes out of your sched to maybe slap together a quick NS example map for reference? Perhaps with some simple examples of Commander View tweaks, simple weldables, and particle systems? I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by new mappers to the NS community, as I know I could get alot out of it. If that's too much to ask, I understand, and I'll just continue to chip away at the NS mapping learning curve on my own. If not, however, I look forward to contributing to the NS map pool much sooner than I normally would .
