If they do, it's not for long.
Face it, NS does not reward pure fragging nor does it encourage ignoring your team. From a purely action point of view, it's a sub par game. I know a few people who play online FPS games solely for the fragging. They each tried NS for a whole 10-15 minutes before saying "This sucks." and uninstalling it. A true "I only play to frag, don't care about anythign else" kind of player will get bored with the game VERY quickly.
Aggressive players are often labeled as "rambos", myself included. Just because we don't spend 99% of our time humping either a teammate or the armory does not mean we don't give a crap about the team and the outcome of the game. We'll kamikaze rush the hive early to nail the gorge. We'll knife RTs to slow down alien income or at least draw their attention. We'll jump past OCs to reach good phase/siege locations. We'll JP abuse to take down hives/expensive aliens. Are you going to tell me these things don't help the team at all? If we fail what we were trying to do, at least we will have been damn good low cost distractions.

Before aliens get carapace marines have a field day, its fun to just run around and kill as many skulks as possible before they get carapace. If your crap and keep dying then youd be better off going to WPs and securing locations. If your really good though and keeping half the alien team busy and the other half dead then you are the biggest asset on your team as you are contributing the most gain.
Then when aliens get lvl 3 cara the roles are reversed and a lone skulk to take out large groups of marines alone.
Ramboing is more fun for most players, plain and simple. Poeple play for fun not for teamwork. If you want teamplay go play in a gather or clan match, if you play in a pub then expect people to play for fun.
I even have a bind to
"say Hunt the Fatteh, hunt the Fattehhhhhhh!"
Just so he can know I'm coming, and be scared.

I have too much imagination...
lol
It is pretty hard to destoy alien RT if you go alone. So it is better to move in groups, if you want to destroy those RT's.
But sometimes i just see guys who runs in to a empty hive and just sits there and keep asking for phase gate, before i even have observatory or any res nodes (except the base res)
One thing i hate about rambos is that, when i give HA/HMG/welder to someone and order him to wait until i equip the others, he goes for rambo and gets killed by two fades...or few

nether.. a carapaced skulk.. can take 1 marine... then die.. if he takes 2.. then the marines have failed.. and suck the cow!
Of course, you can risk everyone ramboing right out of your base and leave it open to skulk ramboettes
I just hate the loners who camp in a dodgy hitbox spot not supporting crap except the occasional skulk who wanted a feed.

Ah yes, and apart from that ramboing is not fun at all D: You're dead much longer, you dont get equipment (they ask you to kindly leave the drop area so we can drop equipment without anyone stealing it ) and you're busy asking for meds and equipment without ever getting any. (This is what I think as I dont recall ever ramboing )
