The U.S is considering replacing Saddam with <a href='http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,6173678%5E1702,00.html' target='_blank'>the general who executed the gas attack on the Kurds.</a>

Yeah...

    Obviously a credible source.

It wouldn't suprise me, though. Khazraji is considered to be one of the main sources the intel agencies got their alleged information about WMD from.

And in other news, the Bagdahd Times says that Saddam has grown 4 extra arms in order to better smite the infidels with his laser swords!!!

Why even post something like this? Why quote things like this from ANYONE's news source, as no one knows what the plans are. I rather doubt the US government is 100% sure of who's going to be in charge other than a temporary Military Governor, followed by democratic elections in a year or less.

The idea isn't far fetched. Another rag claims that said general was kidnapped from Denmark by CIA agents and brought to an american airbase in Hamburg. But they might need him for other purposes, _HE_ might believe he is going to be the next leader of Iraq. I clearly hope he doesn't.

It will be nearly impossible at this point to directly 'install' an Iraqi as leader. I'm sure that people who are on the democratic ballots will likely not include Saddam's raping sons or corrupt secret police heads, but otherwise most bets will be off. It's just been bandied about too much at this point that a democratic election will be held, and with a billion reporters and UN voting observers on the ground at that point, any of the usual 3rd world sillinies will be hard to pull off.

No, this is not true. I live in Orlando Florida and in a member of the VFM told me that a general that lives here has been called up out of retirment several weeks ago and by the orders of president Bush, trained to take over as leader of Iraq. He will be like Macarthur was in Japan. I can't find on article about who will be the intrim leader, all they do is speculate that it's going to be General Tommy Franks, but it won't. I'll try to find out the general's name.

    I bet they'll pick <a href='http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/not_in_website/syndication/monitoring/media_reports/2291649.stm' target='_blank'>Ahmed Chalabi</a> as viceroy.

I doubt it. It will most likely by U.S./British only. Later when a transitional government is in place he might be involved. And what's a viceroy? And I finally found the article, I knew I heard that it was in one of the local newspapers. <a href='http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college/hurricanes/sns-iraq-war-general-orl.story' target='_blank'>http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/coll...neral-orl.story</a>
