<div class="IPBDescription">Questions wanted to put in the forum</div>Hiya, I just kinda wanted to ask you(Charles C.) a couple of questions:
Why'd you choose that name(it's pretty cool)?
What(basically) will the HUD show?
Will there be a single-player version evantually?
What(other then Natural-Seletion) is your favorite MOD?
Let's say that aliens really do exist. Would you consider
this game realistic?
Do ALL the maps that run with Natural-Selection start with NS_?
What is your favorite alien level?
What would you say(other than team-work) is the most important thing to have in being succesful in the Natural-Selection?
About how long has the team been working on the project?

Most of us call our god by his <i>proper</i> name: Flayra
if u look at playtest shots u'll see that theres armour health and a radar plus other stuff like Resource Points i think
If u've read the ideas forum a while u'd know that currently no plans for single player. STC (Subject to Change)
I believe ns_ is our map tag like Science and Industry uses si_
Flayras apparently had the idea for NS for years.
BTW No, I'm not Flayra in disguise (in case u got confused) I'm just a bored poster.

Sorry about the Flayra thing. I'll be sure to call him that from now on. Anyway I e-mailed him those exact questions and he said to put them in the General Discussion page. I guess I should've replied these in a topic that he started so I didn't have to make one. Well, you can't get me wrong, it was my first post. I'm glad that this eased you boredism though.

No sweat Sgt.X. Anyway I just hope he sees this. I'm not saying that <i>your</i> answers wern't helpful, I just want to see for myself from him. He said(if you still doubt me):
" Hey there,
If you post these questions in the general forum, I'll answer them
there so others can see. Thanks!"

While you're waiting for a response from Flayra-God, check out the FAQs... especially the General Forum FAQ, as that has links to nearly everything that is important.
<i>Why'd you choose that name(it's pretty cool)?</i>
Citixen (Chad Dawson) and I were brainstorming on names one night, and he flung this out. At first I was liked it, and the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was perfect. I think it was decided within 30 seconds of hearing it. The name describes, in essence, that neither side is good nor evil, but that they are both just species, trying to survive. I didn't want to portray the aliens as evil in any way, just a bit more up front with their intent.
<i>What(basically) will the HUD show?</i>
Who's HUD? The soldier HUD shows a radar, which shows your teammates, including their names, if they see an enemy, if they are firing, or if they are talking. The radar will probably also show the map, to make it easier to navigate. Soldiers will also their standard stuff like health and ammo, but they can also see their team's resources and who is commanding. Aliens have much less on their HUD, but have a bar for their resources and another bar for their "energy" (used for movement modes, weapons, and more). Aliens also have hive sight, which shows them the locations of hives, friends, enemies that are spotted, and entities that are under attack. The commander has the RTS style interface you've seen in screenshots.
<i>Will there be a single-player version evantually?</i>
No comment.
<i>What(other then Natural-Selection) is your favorite MOD?</i>
Probably Counter-strike.
<i>Let's say that aliens really do exist. Would you consider this game realistic? </i>
Hmmm, the game feels like it could exist, it doesn't feel fantastical, but we haven't added decapitation, wounding, stamina and all the other features that are en vogue for "realistic" games. I'm not sure about the answer to this question, but I would probably say "no".
<i>Do ALL the maps that run with Natural-Selection start with NS_? </i>
Currently, yes. More gamemodes may be added in the future, and if they are, some maps may use different prefixes.
<i>What is your favorite alien level?</i>
Right now I'm partial to the level 1.
<i>What would you say(other than team-work) is the most important thing to have in being succesful in the Natural-Selection?</i>
Adaptability. Both sides are always changing, due to the random nature of hives, and the technological progress of both sides.
<i>About how long has the team been working on the project?</i>
Pre-production started almost two years ago. The game has been in full code production for just over a year, full mapping production for about 6 months. We've only recently really kicked the art and sound into high gear.
