Ok, ya got me.

About a month ago I stumbled upon this site. I don't remember how, but I kept coming back. This is JUST the type of MOD that i've been waiting for, and so far you've amazed me with your level of dedication and production values. You have a very strong and good community, and it will continue to grow, I know it.

Being an avid RTS player (the likes of StarCraft, Myth series etc.) this MOD got me hooked after one visit. I kept checking this site every day after work, and well, ya got me. I had to register and become part of the greatness.

This will be a hit, and I'll be the first one in the state of Alaska to play it!

I'll spread the word of what i've seen, I know lots of people will be drawn in like me.

Now, after that lenghty intro, let me get to a couple questions which I have not seen yet:

1. Will there be (at any time) background music to certain maps? It wouldn't have to be real music, but just some mood setting ambience to really add to the feel.

2. Who wrote the (really good) background story to the TSA? I think the way you've built a whole WORLD around this game really makes it shine in my book. Having a good story behind each map and behind the factions makes it even more fun to play.

Thats about it for now.

Yes, our forum moderator Spyder Monkey is stationed in Alaska (he's in one of the branches of the armed forces, I don't know which).

We're hoping to have a good background soundtrack, and I mean good.

The backstory was written by Jeff Paris. I'm pretty sure that he's an author, but I really don't know much about him except that he writes really well.

Welcome welcome... the soundtrack is written by.... ACK! I've forgotten his name! He did the music for Giants, Morrowind, and Icewind Dale, among others. Oh yeah! Jeremy Soule! The guy is letting us use his music for -free-, which makes him the absolute coolest guy ever.

Be sure to read the FAQs, espcially the General Forum FAQ.

Welcome, Gen()cide. I'm glad you like what's happening here. I'm glad to hear that there are people like you that are excited about NS.

Music-wise, we'll likely have just a couple snippets of music that play occasionally during the game. I'm not sure how much music will get done before the first release, but I've decided that lack of music will not hold up our first release (as much as I want it, Jeremy is a BUSY man).

Jeff Paris is creating our game world, with a little prodding and direction from me. We get together occasionally to discuss ideas, and I tell Jeff where I want to go with the gameplay and maybe some very basic ideas. He then goes crazy with it and creates something incredibly cool. You can check out more of his work at http://www.ngenre.com (this is his main project, it's his magazine). If you want to support Jeff, support New Genre, he'll be able to eat if you do. There's tons of great sci-fi and horror in his magazine, and it's quite fresh and progressive.

Glad to hear there will be some good music to accompany the gameplay, i'm sure this will add even greater appeal to gamers.

Spyder is pretty far away from where I am at in AK, I was hoping I knew him so I could catch a glimpse of NS in action!

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I don't know why I capililized MOD...
