The Worst Cds You Ever Bought...

We're having lots of positive 'What's your favorite...' topics, so I'm going to inverse the concept and ask you for the worst music you ever payed money for.

Mine would be:

- Trust Company - The Lonely Position of Neutral: A single good song, twelve tracks. Do the maths.
- Girls vs. Boys - You can't fight what you can't see: Never before have I see a decent CD so utterly ruined by the singer.

Well, happily for me, I've never bought a music CD.

    Ever.

Though I guess a game that came on a CD would come under the worst CD ever, mine's a game called "The Creed". I got it out of a bargin bin at cash converters one day for US$5. It was terrible.

    That is all.

As the resident Old Fart, I had the dubious pleasure of growing up in the 80's, therefore I had access to a much greater variety of shameful records than most..

Hard to pick out a particular lowlight, but it would have to be something from my "Hair Metal" years..

    Motley Crue probably..
    <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00008J2GI/ref=pd_sbs_m_5/002-4543853-5811238?v=glance&s=music' target='_blank'>http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...=glance&s=music</a>

Shameful, but not as bad as my brothers tastes at the time which included such horrors as Dio and Manowar..
    <a href='http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000002INJ/qid=1048866807/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/002-4543853-5811238' target='_blank'>http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...4543853-5811238</a>

Be sure and stop by the official store for some Manowar pants now..<!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    <a href='http://www.manowar.com/main.shtml' target='_blank'>http://www.manowar.com/main.shtml</a>

Man, my 15 year old brain was a strange place to be..thankfully I grew out of it..

Oh yeah, I know the topic is worst CD's , but these were vinyl...only posh people had CD players in mid 80's Britain..

Same with me Redeemed. I've only bought a few CDs and all of them had gotten the Tiio Seal of Pwnproval.

    But as for computer games... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Oh man, Manowar the Crue and Dio are amazing >_<

"Its a Country Christmas" All your favourtire country stars singing all your favourite Christmas carols.

If hell could be compiled onto CD it would sound like this one.

I know a particualarly deranged individual who actually <b>bought</b> this back in the day...

We had to smash it and throw it out a window in case he ever played it again...

    ( right click, feelgood mp3...)

Probably the worst song in music history..

HOLY SHIZNITS! I stepped back into the 80's. This is like something you would hear in a old Jean Claude Van'Damm movie.

    who buys CD's?
I only have only bought two cd's, which were The best of Bill Withers (lean on me, lovely day, just the two of us, grandma's hands etc) and Queens greatest hits (we will rock you, a kind of magic, stone cold crazy, etc)

Ehhh, people who want to avoid stealing... and no, that is not a cue to get into a big argument about napster, morpheous, kazaa, online music, and the rest.

We just have a no-warez policy (including music), on these forums, so SUYF about it already.

And the worst album I ever bought (you kids with your pre-vinyl/pre-cassette/pre-8-track CD's)? Has to be 'The Cult' when I was in high school.

You can't diss The Cult !!!

"She Sells Sanctuary" is one of the greatest singles of the 80's!

    And "Electric" is brilliant!

Also, who can question the sheer overblown, pretentious genius of "Sonic Temple" and "Ceremony"? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Drugged out northern hippies hire an orchestra and decide to be Led Zep for a few years..

"Oooo look, were all dressed up as native Americans!!! Lets play a 10 minute guitar solo!!.."

Hfahhaf. I've never bought a CD I didn't enjoy. I have a policy where I must at least know and like at least 3 songs on a CD before I buy it. It works out rather well. But Nem, how dare you say the trust company CD sucks. I disown you, sucka.

I can probably top most people . . . in the days before Napster, my friend and I used to have a sort of contest-- wander into a used cd store together, purchase cds based on cd title or song titles, and then see who had the best intuition.

I ran about a 20% success rate. Trust me, the stinkers were worth it for the bands that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

The worst band? 'Forever and a Day'. I can't imagine screaming into a microphone for several straight hours. Their lead singer apparently can.

the worst cd i have ever recived sits next to me at this moment....

Keb' Mo' - Big Wide Grin....

whoever this guy is, i have no clue, but at least he got his own cd...and well, i've got it now *shiver*
    anyone wanna buy this thing?

Worst CD i have ever purchased....

    Guns and Their Sound
while it was interesting, i do NOT need 56 tracks of gunfire, and a breif explenation of what gun that was...
    EXAMPLE:
    01 - BAM - desert eagle
    02 - BAAMMmmm - glock
03 - Thud Tinkle tinkle BOOM - Fragmentation grenade (like we couldn't figure that out)
  • BioHazBioHaz Join Date: 2002-02-18 Member: 226Members
Are they at least good quality gun sounds? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Cause at leasy you could probably use them as replacement SFx for games and stuff. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
