<div class="IPBDescription">Enlist here. = EMAIL ME :)</div> This post is in repsonse to the overwhelming support for the idea I posted on thursday the 27th. For those of you who are to lazy (like me ;p) to go search for it it was about making a group of NS players who are under one tag. In order to get in you must be a mature player 18 or older (for now), a team player, willing to help newbies get into NS etc,

No skill required, no tryouts, no "clan" matches, no meetings, no mandatory practices. This is a group designed for all you "old" gamers out there who want teamwork and friendship and who dont have time for the above due to work, college, marrage, kids, whatever. its like that OWG anti cheat thingy. Not a clan just a tag that lets people know you are a team player and if you see someone else with the tag you know there is a guy who will work with you int he game.

I had several people email me and I had many more post interest but they didnt email me.

Becasue this is sort of a +ant clan+ for lack a of a better term, I at least need an email form you so I can add you to the list.

I currently have 6 people. If anyone else needs more info look back for my last post.

If you want in and are the mature teamplayer, with an awsome personality.

Email me at dbw_intelof@yahoo.com

Interesting. Except for the age restriction, this has been done before almost exactly in TFC, called Team Play First (-TPF-).

hasn't there been an organization (not a "clan") like this since NS 1.0?
[edit] they existed <b>before</b> NS 1.0, and they were/are called the NSF.

No Mendasp i think u mean the NS Guides.

This Organisation was founded a few months before Ns 1.0 was released . They're all Playtesters who are willing to help any new player. You will recognize one in-game by a small green Heavy Armor Icon next to their name in the scoreboard. It's currently just a small group , and many players dont even know they exist . I guess with the introduction of Friends (the new ingame chat-client) in the next Hl-Update they could be very helpful cause u could ask everything u want over Friends.
Here's an old homepage , which was down all the time RR.org was down.

not sure what this organization will have problems with.

but Old Fogies always has re occurring problems with age. in general, the guidelines are good. we get somewhat mature, affable, laid back ppl to shoot some lmg, bite some TSA.

but there are always young ppl that we are constantly impressed by. their maturity, humour, good sportsmanship, etc. it's a tear to just say no. but many of the fogies joined just because of the hard and fast rule. so to respect them, and to much the chagrin of other fogies, these young-uns have to be denied.

not sure if you guys will have such a problem, but best of luck to ya.

it's like the OWP (Online Warfare Pact) in DoD etc, i really liked that idea.
But i think it needs an organized Database in a site that ppl won't fake it, and a way to remove members (maybe by a vote?).
Or u can make that only a member invite a new one..

    But count me in

As of right now Im talking to someone so hopefully we will get a web site up soon. So that goes for the database. Right now I have 15 people who have emailed me. Ill be emailing u all on sunday so I can get a few more people by then. And it will have all the current status and where we go from there.

    Kind of a good idea.

I'm disappointed in your age restriction, though. I myself am 16 and I'd like to get into an organization like that if I saw it in action first. Assuming that anyone under 18 is an immature CS lamer is a pretty bad thing to do. Hell, I know a 13 year old more mature than I am.

I'd suggest doing this on an individual basis.

    Short clarification:

NSGuides is a semi-official 'let's help the newbies' program that's currently asleep due to personal issues (namely, the dissapearance) of the guildleader.

NSF is a forumer guild that's simply trying to get people who potentially know each other from the forums and who want to have decent games together.

Davis' idea is great, although I'll have to agree that a strict over 18 age limitation seems rather stereotypized to me. I know twelve year olds I'd trust more maturity than my classmates (Last class of the German high-school equivalent.).

I like your idea. Sometimes after a clan practice I go into a pub server, I get really frustrated when I ask my marines 20 times to move to hive XXXXXX and they just stand around. Teamwork is something too many people don't get.

But tell me, can't people just fake the tag, therefore possibly ruining your group's credibility?

People can fake any tag for anyone. What can I say, is that if I witness something or I can verify someone doing it they wont be part of the organization. its an honor based system. But this goes for anything.

Also if you are in a clan and u want to be in I dont mind, about the clan tag you would have to ask your own clan about that. I already have one clan member who will just use his real clan tag when he does his matches andhe will use the YSA one when hes iin public servers.

there's defenitely a way to show you're a team player, I thought constellation would serve that purpose too

    Faking tags?

The way TPF worked was that it was a concept rather than an organisation. Basically, anyone who believed in good, solid teamwork and aspired to the ideals of the guild could just stick the tag on their name. It was just a symbol for "I'm interested in playing as a team".

    While we're at it, i'm 17 and I'm more mature than some adults I've met <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I sent an E-mail, and I don't care if this has been done/tried before, we're trying it now DANGIT! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

And while I fill all the requirments, there are many people who have saved my arse and who've I trusted my unlucky LMG wielding life with who are younger than I am. Most of these people seem to be about the age of 16.

Now... I think we're limiting the whole TSA thing if we close off after a certain age requirement is not met. I believe it'd be hard enough trying to find players that have any amount of skill/intelligence that can work well together in a group environment, let alone skimping out all of the not-quite-so-rare respectable teenagers. It's not my idea, so I really guess I don't have a say in this... But all I can do is maybe ask to reconsider the age req.

So, do we have a standard way of getting our tag in? Is it before or after?

    TSA[e]-Soandso
    -or-
    Soandso_TSA[e]

etc, etc. Is there going to be uniformity or just kind of have a TSA in there somewhere and we're good?

Numerous groups like this. Some you have to be over 21, some 25 and others 30. It is not sterotypical to have an age restriction, it is just that you are more inclined to find more mature players as age goes up. Of course exceptions exist.

    Good luck with your group.
