its done with 4 large textures using a large part of the texture limit.
maybe i will add a holograpic rotating 3d screen of my map in the RR with simple colors (no detailed textures) , hive, CC and res positions.

Something like the map room in Halo's <i>The Silent Cartographer</i>?
I`ve started triing to make a holo-minimap and it works fine...
each "level" is drawn absolutely flat and in different color for more overview.
its rotating around the z-axis, dissorts and flickers fine.
i dont want to give it more detail, apart from showing res-locations, for r_speeds.
Textures can be much better of course, its not complete because the map could change... its just a test.

2. It's a game for the X-box ( soon PC ) which is what I think he's refering to
(not sure if that's the correct term, but what I mean is draw only every other line)
