<div class="IPBDescription">I can never do it!</div> I always run out of fuel and end up getting eaten. Is there some trick, or is it that darn FPS thing? (BTW: How do you display your FPS?)
It'll be FPS. To show yours, open your console and type <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->net_graph 2
at the moment the amount of vertical thrust you get is determined by the fps you have. that means high fps people don't need to thrust as much so they save their fuel. you may have noticed that some players cannot stop ramming the ceiling. this has been discussed so much already and it is fixed for the new version.
Hmm, those specs should be able to perform better than that. I get a performance like that on my Celeron 400.

I get above 80fps most of the time, ussually hangs around 98 unless I am in an area with alot of buildings....
That is excellent, dont get me wrong... I'm sure people would be very annoyed with me for complaining about something like that, but I have to use a script which sets my fps_max to 70 and back again for when I'm jetpacking, or my jetpack is useless because I go up way too fast for me to control it...
Constant 85 except in heavy battle. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Funny story: One match on nothing, we had the aliens down to one hive with a combination of ha/jping. I have a jet pack and because of the fps bug, I was flying around via with pretty much infinate fuel. Then the team hops over to powersilo to finish them off. I fly ahead and get to power first. I start flying around plugging the hive with my hmg. My fps is running at 85, so even though my jp bar is empty, it refills fast enough to keep me from dropping. Then the HA squad arrives as do the remaining fades and lerks and the **** hits the fan. My fps drops and so do I into that killer goo that rings powersilo. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have an AMD 1700+ (1.47 Ghz), 512 DDR 2100 RAM, and a Radeon 9700 Pro. I get 99 FPS pretty much all the time, but I don't like the Radeon much -- it has too many random bugs. For instance, I can't take screenshots if I have anti-aliasing on in HL. They come out a big block of solid red <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> I also only play alien, pretty much, so I don't get the JP bug advantages anyway <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
as far as I know it has to do with HL not likeing nvidia gear. I had the same problems (amd 900, geforce256) but was able to solve it with fps_max (not at first btw. try around with the rates, eventually you should notice a significant change in fps. I have my rate at 70 or something around that.)

but NS is the first thing to come along where i actually need 80 fps to keep up with my competition. redemption takes about 20 seconds to activate at 20 fps, which makes it worthless. jetpacks barely get me up on a ledge, where i then have to sit and regen fuel for 30 seconds, and my clanmates can build an RT about 5 seconds faster than i can build an IP.

Those show more info than just fps, like ping and other useful things.
