Finished The Cc But Idle Animation Doesn't Play

<div class="IPBDescription">Please, need help</div> I finished animating the Command Console but the idle animation won't play ingame. It works in Half-Life Model Viewer but ingame it only shows the first frame and then stops. The original idle animation for the cc was only one frame and i think this might be the problem. Of the two new idle animations one is 200 frames and the other is 30. Please can anyone help me? I really don't want to scratch both animations, they took me along time <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Did you use the same qc file as the original cc?

    I had to alter it slightly (I changed the fps on an animation), but it was the same originally.

    Do you know how to write qc files? I'm thinking this is your problem.

    Sorry bud. I tried everything I can, and no dice. They are great animations too.

    It seems to be ignoring the loop command. I checked if it plays one of the other animations, that doesn't seem to be the case. I overwrote all the sequences to be the same thing, and it still cuts off. I even made them all loop. I guess it's just hardcoded to stop after one sequence no matter which sequence is being played.

    I really can't check if it's the submodel that's causing the problem. Or maybe I can....

    Give me a sec. Time to make the CC a TF. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Full success with the tf model. It's the submodel that's causing your problems. Now what are the implications of this? It means that if you want your animations to run more than once, you have to have both pieces in the same reference file. But, when the comm leaves the chair, it's still going to look like a guy is in there typing away. There might be a fix for this, I'm not sure.

    Edit:

    I could be totally wrong in thinking it's the submodel causing your grief. It could be that I just rewrote the whole qc file to make the tf compile. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    That's great Jamil, thanks for the help. I hope you can get it to work, if you need anything just ask. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Boooo. Hissssssss. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'm just using this as an excuse to get away from my assembly language assignment for a couple minutes. I really don't think I can take on the whole project.

    I don't think it's a lot of work to fix it up. Just merge the chair, the marine model, and the skeleton, and reassign all the vertices. I'm not sure if the marine_ref has the skeleton inside it. Oh, and then rewrite the qc file.

    I'm going to eat my orange now.

    I didn't mean for you to take over the model Jamil, just fix the problem. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Is there anyway to fix it without merging the two models? If not, no problem I've got an idea anyway. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Thanks for your help <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Sorry guys, no matter what I tried, the animations on the CC wouldn't play. I thinks it's just hard coded that the idle animations are one frame long and it doesn't play anything else. I guess I'll release the CC without the animations. I'll do it in a pack with the rest of the buildings coming soon.
