I Beat Sp Freelancer
<div class="IPBDescription">No Spoilers... heh</div> I think this coulda been the greatest SP game ever, And even more addictive than Evercrack.
Things missing that are Sorely needed
- Ability to use your super weapons of doom to kill ANYTHING (including space stations) when you finish the game (Why is the sunslayer in there, and it has no real use?)
- More Variety in Jobs.
- More interesting weapons (X weapon is more effective against Y shields, very boring)
- Side plots, and mission sets
- Alternate Main plot Paths
- Alternate endings (To give you a REASON to play it again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> )
On a final note, they shoulda let us fly the battleship... I dont care if it handles like a giant cow, i wanna fly it!

I know it seems obvious .. but it took a while to click in my head. Your not supposed to adventure around on a planet/station - your supposed to fly in space .. so ..
/me shrugs
I agree with that too.
Anyways I've played the whole version, I really dont play single mission, I play multiplayer. But one annoying thing in the mp is that you must create a new pilot on every new server you join... very annoying. On one server I played on, it was a cheater in it I think... well I got about 100 000 000 credits of him... hehe, so I could buy anything I wanted.
True.. I played the demo and loved it for the first few days.. but from the sounds of it, the demo gives you just about everything the game gives you, other than a few other space ships and galaxys, a few bigger guns.. so you can get more money easier to buy.. bigger guns. Multi player doesn't exactly seem all that spiff.. considering the whole "aim at the little circle that's there and you'll hit 100% of the time because it takes in account where the spaceship is moving" thingy.. sure the other guy can increase and decrease his speed, and strafe a bit to trick the aimer.. but then combat really only comes down to one guy spaming his weapons in the general dirrection of the other player. The missions in the demo didn't exactly offer much and from the sounds of this post they don't exactly expand beyond the "go here and kill them" missions. I'm hoping the game is highly modable like Half-life and some awesome mod comes out that takes advantage of the engine <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
It would be way to quiet without it...
To be quite honest, neither does Half-Life (<i>IMO</i>). It's the mods that have done the most to keep it alive for this long.
There are already a few 'mods' for Freelancer out, but they basically just seem to be datafile hacks. Give Microsoft/D.Anvil some time. Hopefully they'll come to the realization that mods usually equal more sales, and will open up the engine so anyone can take a stab at creating their own universes, gameplay styles, fleets, and so on.
At the very least, I would expect (and hope) that there'll be an expansion pack or something. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

I played through SP HL several times... Its short in comparison to Freelancer though.
I did find a few bugs in the game though...
(Rarely) Hostile forces such as the mollys, They Usually attack you on site but they occasionally go neutral for you. I Had a chance to dock with their base. I couldnt buy nothin' and they all went hostile when i left... lol
I'm having trouble decided whether to get a super-powerful heavy fighter and become a bounty hunter/pirate or getting some super freighter and making a ton of cash. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
