okay my last post was was cluttered w/ me trying to get the links to work. I finally have a stable host so here they are. The minigun has been modified(not shown in the pics) slightly since i 1st posted (ie. the swing handle, bullet clip, and some minor blending problems have been fixed and a light has been added to the side) and the pistol i just did earlier today. these r my 1st models ever. Any suggestions will help. Thanx

    damn good stuff for fist models. one thing i would suggest, is to use primitives as a starting point, and manipulate them. dont let them the the end-all product. keep it up man, just model loads of stuff, and dont neglect player models like some of us <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    def one i did use primitives as a starting point, the Minigun was a giant cylinder and the pistol was a box, also could u explain what u mean when u said "dont let them the the end-all product"

    Also i have a few questions if someone can help me
    Can i make holes in an object?
    How do i use vertexes i make myself?
    For barrels on guns how do i make the width of the open cylinder bigger, not like the actual cylinder just the open hole, how do i make it smaller or bigger?
    how do i tell the size relationship between a model and a weapon?
    And 4 gods sake how do i mesh something?

    o btw im using milkshape if u couldnt tell

    edit i did some major overhauling to the pistol and and some minor changes to the mini gun, ill try and change the pics when i get the chance.

    well i redid both the models, ill try to get the pics updated, but the poly count 4 my pistol is 996 and my mini gun is 14536, i just made a shotgun 2 which ill try to get up, its not done tho, its needs alot of blending and smoothing out. Im just trying to get as much practice as i can. The shotguns is 1453.

    Sure, use the subdivide tool to make some new faces. Then move those faces into the shape you want. Use the extrude tool and extrude inwards.

    Drop 3 vertices, then select the create face button and click on the 3 vertices on at a time to make a face.

    I'm not sure what you mean here, but I guess you want to make the end of your barrel bigger. Select the last couple vertices that make up the tip of your barrel, and use the scale tool. Otherwise, I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe it's something you and your dad should talk about.

    Eh? Use your eyes?

    Use the texture coordinate editor. It's available through one of the top menus. I hate using it though. I prefer to use other unwrapping programs.

    i dunno why i would need to consolt my dad, but what i meant was, if u look at my pistol and u look at the barrel. The barrel itself is open about an inch, but the barrel itslef is only like 1cm thick. how do i get it to like 5 cms thick but keep the same overall diameter?

    You're saying you want to make a hole at the end of your barrel instead of being open? Just drop a bunch of vertices in a circle at the end of the barrel, and create some faces.
