<div class="IPBDescription">water glowing</div> Hi

I've just got a small problem with water. It's always glowing like normal func_wall when you set reder_mode to Additive . This happens with func_waters as well as with normal brushes with a !... texture.
To which render more do i have to change it ??
I hope anyone can help.
Thanks a lot in advance.

This is unfortuantly a limitation of the half liife engine, there are only really 2 things you can do about it

    1. use a darker texture
    or
    2. Make your water with a func_water and give it a low opacity

Do not use rendermode Additive for water. Additive ALWAYS brightens the texture, since it's adding the texture's colour to the existing view behind it. Use rendermode Texture instead.

Of course Additive doesnt work it just looks very weird.
Thanks a lot for the "texture" suggestion I have tried it out and it works fine.
U have to set render_mode to texture and fx_amout to 150-200 and it looks very nice.
    Thank you very much.

making water a little transparent breaks the monotony of the rad-ignoring surface.
