<div class="IPBDescription">why welder instead of knife to cut webs?</div> why is the welder the one to cut webs and not the knife? its more appropriate (and *realistic*) if it was knives and not welders...

if this has been asked before, please pardon me, for i am fairly new to this forum.

I suppose the logic would be that metal gets stuck to sticky things, while flames do not.

Regardless, NS Webs are only called that because they *resemble* webs. In-game, they're strands of stuff not too unlike epoxy or snot, that actively detach themselves and move to entangle the Marines when touched. Welders burn them away, but knives just sink in a little before the ends come whipping around and wrap the marine up nice and tidy.

According to the storyline, the webs are actually membranes which detatch from their anchor points and wrap around the marine.

Anyways, just think about the impracticality of trying to get close enough to webs to hack through them without stepping in them.

Ugh, and I thought a cat's furballs were bad. At least they don't ensnare me when I'm trying to get around the house. Guess I won't get a Gorge as a pet, after all.
