Cant Keep A Stable Ping

okay for the last week my connection has been worse than ever. I can barely play a game. My ping jumps from 100 to 3000 every 30 seconds or so. And now im getting Cl_flushentitypacket error almost every 10-20 seconds untill it crashed the game and i get a netsend error. My connection was fine up untill recently.

my specs:
600mhz P3
256 syncdramm
geforce2 Ti 64meg
56k v.92 modem

my connection seems fine when im not playing HL so i think its a problem w/ my HL.

    Your connection is fine playing other games besides HL, or just when you are surfing the web? A bad modem connection or noisy line will let regular 56k modem surfing appear fairly normal, but show much worse symptoms under the load of an online game.

    yeah it seems fine websurfing 4 the most part. But anytime i play a game online it just goes to hell.

    Well, if you want to determine if it's your PC versus your data connection, you can lug your PC over to a friend's house real fast and see if you get the same behavior over his phone lines. If not, the problem is going to be with your phone line. If it repeats, it's an issue with your modem or PC config. It's probably not anything wrong with your copy of HL or NS, as it happens in all your games.
