Well, I don't have a problem with clan stacking in and of itself. If you play on a server regularly you can see the same thing with good regulars. If I have certain regulars on my team (while comming) I know what tasks I can give them, and I know they'll carry them out. If I see the same people on my team as a marine I know that I can get some good backup (me=point man). As a kharaa, it doesn't usually matter beyond knowing that our gorge is good, because even regulars hardly team up as kharaa. Get an inbalance of regulars and one team has a big advantage.

The only times I have a problem with clan stacking is with one clan on the servers I play on. That's because one of them is uber, and 4 others are very good (others are just good). Naturally they're team players too. But the main problem I have is not that they are a clan, but because it means 3-4 really good players against whatever is on the other side. I'd have that problem with those players playing together whether they were a clan or not. It's the most frustrating thing as a comm to see: X player kills <insert marine name here> 4 times in rapid succession. (and this is why I almost always build 2 IPs at the beginning)

Oh, and a little clan stacking is deliscious when you're comming (as long as it's not too much, then it becomes a joke). See three clanners on your side? Fireteam. You actually get 3 players who know what they are doing and are more than happy to be sent off as a group and watch each-other's backs. Automatic HA/HMG(GL)/Welder team that will actually weld eachother.

Odd, I thought most servers were dead against clan stacking. I tell them not to, and if they still stack, I just kick/ban them. If they want to play together they can get a scrim and play another clan. It's better if they split up and spread their "skills", makes for more fun and even games (if the clan is any good that is).

Clan stacking isn't much of an issue with EC because most EC members are fair-to-middling players. The clan was created in order to support a social atmostphere, not to destroy other clans on the field of battle. When EC plays together, we play to have fun. Thusly, we're a large group of average players with a little better teamwork and friendship then most people.

I've never seen a full-on clan stack in an NS game. What I generally see is clanners just happening to be on the same side. With that clan I talked about you almost always have at least one on the other side. I see clan stacking as 3+ people of the same clan on one side. I can't see how that is a kick/bannable offence, mabye we're just looking at two definitions.

Is it a fact that any given clanner is better than any given public player? I used to be in a clan that consisted of me and my friends, nothing more. We don't like playing on different teams, is that so bad? Especially since our computers share a common room, and we have problems being on different teams, because you have to force yourself to ignore the urge to shout out "Marines in Holo Room!!" because your friend sitting next to you just ordered his entire team into holo room.

I don't really see clan stacking as a problem. This is only a problem if clan stacking also happens to equal team stacking, which it usually won't. All clan players are NOT better than all public players.

And the most annoying thing about being in a clan on a pub server is everyone accusing you of team stacking even though the entire server just decided to go random...

Its nice to play on a clan server or in a pub with a clan in residence. Its nice to play with or against professionals, hmm?
