And I've seen people build a siege <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo--> way faster than me. Does anyone know why I build slow?Is there a way I can speed that up or something, other than a speed hack <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

FPS unfortunatly dictates many things:
Build speed, alien nrg recharge, JP thrust, Marine RoF etc

all of this will be fixed in 1.1 till then, buy a GeForce4 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

One tip: When you build something look straight down. Then your FPS will increase <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Of course you have to be sure that there is no aliens nearby when you build or that you have at least few guys watching your back.

I do that all the time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> If i keep looking around me and build at the same time, my FPS is about 50-70, but when i look down it increases to 90-100.

You do realize that all of us don't have enough money for radeon 9700 and other expensive computer stuff....
We have to play with slower computers and try to live with that.
It isn't just that simple.....buy a radeon 9700, the cheapest R 9700 cost "only" 250? !!!

Back on topic a bit, if you're really having trouble building (starts building, stops, starts again, etc) use a key bound to the keyboard and not to your mouse for building. I've got a 5 button mouse and I've got +use bound to mouse5, which works fine for using the armory or opening doors, but doesn't work for jack when I try to build.

I can't afford one either. I got given an 8500 All in Wonder DV free though, bit of luck cos I stil can't afford a gfx card <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Just saying if you're going for a decent board, don't go for a half-assed board save up those extra pennies, wait a bit, and get the phattest you can.

Of course you could just end up waiting for ever while technology gets better and better...
