Just An Idea For A Change To Mapping...

<div class="IPBDescription">This sort of idea goes here, right?</div> I was just wondering if anybody was/is considering the possibility of making a brush entity that is essentially non-existant to the comm. Basically the comm can't see it, and any buildings he builds where it would be, are instead considered to be built on the brush below. Yet at the same time, the comm can see marines that are on top (but cannot place medpacks unless on marines perhaps). That way people could make more use of overhanging things like bridges and ramps over areas whereas now they can't for fear of the effects it would have on the comms ability to build and see his troops.

that was wuite a good description of something already implemented. i assume what you are talking about is esentially teh func_seethrough, which can be opaque to mariens but translucent to the comm, which is pretty muchw aht you are saying, i suppose?

I know func_seethrough, but can it be built through?

err, i'm not sure. If you play tanith adn comm, there is a part in waste, that is seethrough, and ur mariens can walk on it and all, but you can't build on it. I"m not sure. what dot ehy use for the top of vents? you can build thorugh those.

So would this be what the (caged?) Author did in The Great Viaduct where in commander mode there is a big gap in the upper-level so you can build in the little Hive-nook?
