Sporadic Lag.

<div class="IPBDescription">WTH JUST HAPPENED?</div> Alright, I frequent the OSS server. I normallY ping around 30-50 there. Lately however, it's been odd... and quite irritating. My ping will now be in around 100 (not a big deal at all). But THEN, as soon as I come near an enemy... my ping skyrockets to around 400 something... sometimes 500s-600s(This means everythign is warping alllllllll over the place). My rwin was high, so I fixed that, and I turned off QoS (I dont need it). I still have this problem however. It only happens to me on the server, and <u>only</u> with NS. (I play DoD now since I cant play ns). Oh right, I have tried reinstalling.... and that doesnt seem to help much. Sigh..

    I'm having the same problem. I used to ping low, now suddenly I'm pinging 100-ish, and I get to 600 when near an enemy. Makes playing aliens impossible.

    I'm on a 2.5-3 megabyte cable line. Happens on other servers as well.

    Wait for a few days, see if it clears out. Try different mods of half-life, see if the same thing happens. If it does, probably something up with your internet provider.

    You tryed an ad-ware, virus and spyware scan? these little nastys can eat away at ya internet connection without you even knowing.

    I recommend

    Ad-ware 6
    Spybot search and destroy
    And any old virus scanner.

    Have you tried reinstalling HL, do you have a bunch of junk on your pc?
