I noticed something. The aging actress who played The Oracle in the 1st Matrix movie shows up in the trailer.
Problem: to my understanding, she's deceased by now in real life.
This means either they took the footage of her long enough ago that these sequels have been in planning for a long time, or they have even more amazing computer-generated special effects than I thought was available.
5/15/2003 seems very very very far away now.......

For the record:
There is a FOURTH quality-level download, "Ultra" - it's 1000 pixels wide. I assume they haven't linked it to keep their bandwidth from going down the toilet, but here is the ZIP. I recommend GetRight; it's 94MB.
Note: it's also a system hog. My P3 800/384MB RAM running Win2k maxes out the CPU and goes all skippy when I try to play it. ): Guess I'm stuck with the 640.
you know those white ghostly figure guys in the trailer, well, are they like sentinel officers or something? cuz agents seem useless against neo, but these white d0ods seems more formidable.

They are the guardians of the Keymaker. Thats all I can pretty much explain.
--- Some things I noticed:
-They smoothed out the "Burly Brawl" (What they call the Agent Smith vs Neo fight) ALOT, you now see Neo look around and its less blury. Looks much much much more realistic, no gumby feel at all.
-The Agent jumping on the car still needs some smoothing out, his moves are way to exagerated.
-We may see Trinity nekkid? Eh? Maybe?
Favorite Line of the Trailer:
"Hes found a way to copy himself" - Neo "So now theres more than one of them?" - Morpheous "Alot More" - Neo

Overall, the CG is better blended in then any film I've ever seen. It looked like it was actually Neo, the human Neo, that was fighting the Agent Smiths, not some high poly model. Also, on the freeway scene, some of the trucks are CG, except I had to watch it several times to notice and Im still not sure if its real or CG.
Hm, methinks Lucas Arts needs to hire out ESC to do their effects, then I might actually believe some of the battle scenes.

And its always been my belief that the defining moment for CG effects in Cinema would be the moment you cant tell CG from the real thing... Could these films be the one that acomplishes that?

I think the pinnacle of CG in movies is when the entire movie is done in CG and looks like it was done using live actors in the real world.

Note the second: OMG I can't wait for this movie.
Check out the japanese trailer too for some cool stuff. Its all in english except for the "in theatres" dates it flashes at the end.
AOL has some kickass servers, 100+ Kbps average even with BOTH the Matrix community AND a Slashdot posting!
