Forum Moderations - Bnet's N Ns's

One thing that really stands out between Battle.net's and Natural Selection's forums is that NS is really well moderated. The amount of cr*p you find in Bnets especially in the Warcraft 3 Expansion beta forums with all the flaming and whining. Not to mention posting a topic will get buried in 20 more within teh 1st half hour.

Heh. We're well trained. It's partially because, honestly, some members are extremely anal about what people say/do/suggest, its an endless cycle. People learn not to spam and etcetera. And yes, it can be a very good thing at times, especially if you have the responsibilities of having to moderate so many posts.

With the exception of the Suggestions and Ideas board, and unfortunately, 99% of the Frontiersmen Strategy board (*sigh* - I used to love that place), the NS forums are great.

The only other community I've been in that was better than this was the Halo community back in 1998 - when it was still a PC/Mac only title. Those guys were *smart.*

Looks like I feel the same way. I wince in pain every time someone says "d00d just jp rush omg nubz0r" in the marine tactics thread - especially becuase no one seems to understand the difference between tactics and strategy.

I used to post a <i>lot</i> in S&I until I realized it was just the same two dozen suggestions reworded and posted over and over and over again.

However, once I settled in here at OT, I've been postin' like mad ever since. It's a very nice spot to be.
