like what lucid said, after installing ns fresh, avoid the ns shortcut and lauch the game from the start menu. u can make a brand new short cut from the start menu and overwrite the installer one.

There are better ways to find an internet game,
ASE has been mentioned (remember to pay the license).
Haven't heard of hlla before - thanks firestorm. Although it's not as easy as gsa it is more configurable...
