hmm, dunno if this has been posted by anyone of my staff but a group of us brits in the NS community thought it would be a good idea to start up a local portal for the UK community. it'll be a bit like www.ukterrorist.com ..except for NS rather than CS <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>. Content will contain: articles, interviews with the national teams and the "NS socially elite" (current staff includes the UK captain and UK PR)... lan event news for UK and maybe europe?... guides, tactics, strategies, registered users can submit news/access downloads of maps and post comments to all articles etc....forums (already up)...

I see "UK" and "UK" and "UK" and then some "UK" with a sprinkle of "europe" in the end. Hows about trying to make it for all of us euros that can be bothered reading in english?

Ill support any good initiative on NS, but seeming as most of us read and write english already, why limit yourself? A lot of the foreigners flocking to the UK servers and community are coming becuse we know that language won't be an issue. There are loads of servers around europe where you will be the only player chatting in english. Either people can't be arsed to chat in english, or their english skills are too poor to be able to type outside of their native tongue and play at the same time.

In either cases, the result is that you don't feel at home unless you speak the native tongue.

SO: That's why _I_ eventually ended up on the uk NS community, because any NS "community" was non-existant in denmark when I started playing.

german servers scare me most!

im an admin for the "untitled karahh toothpick association server" and help around in there... but its mad... the server provider is european, most likely germany... and all the german players decided to flock to that server even though its meant to be UK based...most of the time they're rambling in german and i try to use me olde german language skills to keep up hehe. But its alright sometimes, cos usually they speak english which is great.

on the whole then www.ukns.org will not just report for the uk community, but the european community as a whole.

Don't "official" sounding websites need to be authorized by a DEV team member or flayra himself? I don't think you should go calling it "official" until you know for sure wether flayra or someone approves of that.

The current main person of it (CaptBlaskawitz) is taking a break from NS, so it has stopped for the moment.

There is a webby and an IRC chan, but the webby aint done.

There's a fair amount of demand for a UK/Europe(in english ;p) based league IMHO.

Main problem with us Brits playing in the US leagues (aside from the godawful time difference) is that our connections to the US generally blow goats' knackers. yes, even for people like me on Godlike connections <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>

'UK' and 'euro' have always been 2 different things in terms of gaming, and it came about a few years ago because people didnt have broadband connections back then, and playing anywhere in europe on a modem from the uk, back in the day was impossible and unfair, so basically the uk clans played each other and the 'euro' clans played each other, the exceptions being international matches. The division has existed since then, and if you ask me its quite amusing <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>, i for one enjoy the banter.

uk was very slow in getting broadband, unlike america / scandinavian countries.

well there <i>is</i> a UK league... actually a few... but a couple of mentions to www.uknsleague.co.uk (whom we currently share a forums with)... Their website isn't up yet... but it's on par with CSGN... the web designer is on holiday <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'> ... that's definately one to look out for in the future
