How To Get Called A Wallhacker

<div class="IPBDescription">/ skulk survival tips</div> Lately i've been getting called a wallhacker. While it's somewhat flattering i'm really doing nothing special and I just want to show people what not to do to give yourself away so easily as a skulk.

I see alot of skulks hide above doorways like so
<img src='http://www.froggeh.com/images/aview1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

The skulk is ready to pounce on any unsuspecting marine that should happen to walk by. Unfortunately for the skulk he can be spotted by a marine long before the skulk will even see the marine.
<img src='http://www.froggeh.com/images/mview1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

Now most doorways you can hide higher up so the marine can see you from so far back but if the marine slowly edges forward he will still spot the alien 1st.

An alternative is to hide above the door with you butt facing outwards like so.
<img src='http://www.froggeh.com/images/aview2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

Most doorways this works well but unfortunately the brush is so thin that the skulks head sticks thru.
<img src='http://www.froggeh.com/images/mview2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

Now a third alternative is to sit sideways overlooking the door like so
<img src='http://www.froggeh.com/images/aview3.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

As you can see below it's the most hidden but a marine that is paying attention will spot the skulk 1st.

    Keep in mind when skulking that your POV is near the back of the 3rd person skulk model. So becareful around corners and thin brushes(walls) Here are a few examples.

    Nice examples.
    anyone has the pic of a skulk hiding on top behind a lightbulb lightning down.
    The Skulk is shining bright while he THINKS its a good dark hiding place because he is behind and above the light?

    your teeth model will show how bright your model is. Ex: sit on a red light your teeth model will be red and so will the skulk model.

    Very true, most people don't seem to realize that the skulk (and others) model sticks through some objects. Good tips, I applaud you for adding the pictures, helps illustrate your point. I imagine this will be phased to the Kharra Tactics section tho <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Canadian for the love of god read the news post on the main site and it tells you directly that the models WILL orient properly in 1.1 with a possible option to also oreint the view.

    heehee I've seen that happen many times even with good clanners.

    If they happen to be on the ground, I love to jump out and knife them <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'm pretty sure however that if they *are* hidden, they will see you first as you come round the corner, as I tried sneaking up to a corner and jumping out but this guy always knew a split second before I could see him. It's probably the point of my gun sticking out or something.

    No If the marine is looking for a skulk he will see the skulk before the skulk sees him.

    The best thing a skulk can do is anticipate the marine and jump out while the marine is close by.
