Can I Get Me Some Numbers?

SilentSamSilentSam Join Date: 2003-04-15 Member: 15532Members
I was wondering if there is some sort of compilation of relevant numbers for NS - just about everything and anything. I would use them for something way cool But just what will remain a surprise.

I'm looking for gun fire rates, gun damage, any damage modifiers, RT gathering rates, accuracies, compiled statistics about where players like to hang out on maps, what the most common purchaces are etc etc.

Anything that is objectively measurable - I want it.

Well, there is a site, sadly i dont remember it, but the data will be changing upon 1.1 release anyway. So keep that in mind that if you do whatever it is, you will need to change it.

    hmm... right

would you say a good BALLPARK for 1.1 is less then 4-6 weeks? If so then waiting is good.

    [vent]

    for the 10000000000000000000000000000000 time.

ns 1.1 will be out when it is done and deemed balanced by the playtesters

it could be released at any time between tommorrow and when hell becomes a snowy playground

please, everyone, save you fingers the trouble and stop asking when 1.1 is due

    yes! kitsune kicks ****.
heres the sight saying numbers about damage and shots to kill marine and aliens.

    http://www.geocities.com/kitsune/104stats.htm

and i think he also did the average time to run to a hive.

"I know a lot of times, I've said stuff like "man, eclipse is such a rush map!" But I've never really had anything to back that up. So, out of curiosity, I ran through each of the maps just now as a marine. I started touching the commander's chair, and ended touching/underneath each alien hive (except power silo, obviously). I could probably shave 5-10 seconds off a few of these routes if I tried, but I think the numbers are useful as-is.

Maps are sorted by average time to a hive. Numbers are in seconds.

    Formula for resource income-

    (1 + numRT * numTeamPlayers * 0.23) * (numEnemyPlayers / numTeamPlayers)

Those 1.04 stats are outdated... you need the 1.04e stats:

it doesnt matter. A tick probably, but as long as the time is the same for both teams and you have a rate the res is balanced.

He just was inquiring as to the release to get an idea if he should postone his project for 1.1 or not. That's the most logical release date request I've seen on this board and from my point of view in considering MY project, it doesn't have to do a whole lot with impatience.

Those are some nice numbers Ollj

Anyway the topic should be "Can You Get Me Some Numbers?"

    Here's some numbers:
The hive has 6000 hitpoints, and heals at 2hp per second.

A defense chamber has approximately 720 hitpoints. I believe movement chambers are the same.
