I'm same with a lot of people--DOOM when I was like 5, and then Duke Nukem 3D (Holy crap that was awesome! dnweapons! yar!!). I didn't play DN3D on multi, but often did with Doom, playing with my cousins. Hell, I remember one co-op, in that level (come on DOOManiac D:), where there's 7 doors... And I finally found the exit, and he ran in and plasma gun'd me to death, and hopped to the exit D:

Next would probably be MechWarrior 2. Never got around to playing 1, unfortunately. I think 2 was probably one of the greatest versions.

I don't remember next. I don't seem to remember playing THAT for 5 years straight--because I know when HL came out, I played single player forever. Anyways, wasted away on single player, because we had 56k (Ah, great, leaving downloads on overnight on updates...). After a year or half-year of that, I discovered TFC. I became an awesome sniper--then I was in one game, where I guy said, "TFC sux, u should try CS, guys". I checked out this CS, and became a rabid n00b yelling all over his voice-comm--
Just kidding. But I played CS for a LONG time, getting into a lot of top clans, and getting really good. Somewhere around there, I got DSL! REJOICE! So then, after a while of CS, I went back to TFC, where I heard a lot of people talking about Natural Selection. I figured, "Hey, clever name. Must be something like in the jungles of a country or something." How wrong I was. I kept assuming this for a month or so, until someone insisted I check out the mod, so I did. It wasn't released yet, so I just read the forums... Until March, when I finally got around to registering. Yarr!!!

And there is my life story.

Hmmm well NS was the first shoot em' up computer game period that I had played. Since then I tried a whole bunch of other HL mods. . . but I don't find them to be near as fun. I never really much enjoyed computer games aside from RCT and the Sims, mostly due to the no controler thing (I was a born and bred nintendo girl). I am also not good with having controls in the middle of the keyboard because I always loose my start key at the wrong times. My friend who introduced NS to me showed me the beauty that is the num pad though, so yay. Now I play NS 24/7 I'm addicted, >.< but yeah I loves it!

I gave Doom and Wolfenstein a shot back in the day as a wee lass, but they didn't really catch my attention; I was more interested in manipulating Windows and DOS than computer games. Nintendo and Super Famicom were for games, like Jane said.

I started playing Half-life my first year attending university, when I was at the dorms. I think everyone was asleep, so I poked my head into the room next to me to borrow whatever games my neighbor suggested (he's now my roommate at an apartment ) and he handed me HL and Starcraft.

I hated Starcraft, but after playing through HL I thought I'd give multiplayer a try, so I started playing CS. I played it a fair bit, but I didn't realize there were other mods until last year when I watched my other roommate playing DoD (it's also his fault I learned about NS).

So yeah... I went from completely ignoring FPS to being an addict.

I'm only gonna put these in a rough order, but hell, here we go.

Wolfenstein 3D
DooM
DooM 2
Marathon
Rise Of The Triad
Duke 3D
Quake
Quake 2
Kingpin
Thief
Half-Life
Thief 2
... Now the list gets hazier about dates, bah, screw order ...
Aliens Vs Predator
Soldier Of Fortune
Unreal
Unreal Tournament
Messiah
Aliens Vs Predator 2
Global Operations
Heavy Metal FAKK 2
Soldier Of Fortune 2
Unreal 2
Unreal Tournament 2k3
Battlefield 1942
Tron 2.0

.... Bugger it, you name an FPS game since DooM, i've probably played it all the way through, seriously. All of the above, since DooM i've been playing multiplayer too.

Waaa, of course, i played Tribes and Tribes 2.

Also, do the Mechwarrior games count, they're pretty much fps games.

And finally, i remember the wolf3d clones, one of them using the same engine, it was a futuristic kinda "Blake's 7" thing. I have no idea what it was called.

Arg, Corporation, direst scenery evar.

Hm, I have more FPS on my list of "must get" but I can only do so much with a Voodoo 4. Hardware T&L teh sux0r.

I really want to get my hands on Tron 2.0 and BF1942 plus expansions...... not to mention HL2, and of course War of the Machines.

Meh, I have to upgrade
