you know you want to
Hey, it's that part of my life when I'm going to graduate. I need a senior quote that's good, funny, witty, inspirational, and/or unique. Can anyone think of one?

My senior class quote was by Bob Marley: "In this bright future, we cannot forget the past."

I'm sure you guys will think of a good one too on your own.

    you can try mine...

"I've survived 12 years in a marijuana-based school system, and in my time here I've accomplished the near-impossible task: letting every person that smokes pot know that if they do it within 100 ft of me that I will personally beat the hell out of them."

The yearbook wouldn't take it, but whenever anybody asks, that's what I tell them.

oh, and btw, if they has a gunz, i runz.

There are no immediate length requirements, although u can't give a quote that's a whole page--thats for sure. I just want to see what some guys come up with cause my inspirational juices aren't flowing today.

when i graduated this one guy posted his quote in codes, from a touch tone phone key pad. Hwere the letters are numbers. You had to get a phone and translated it to figure it out.

I actually took the time to lol. he wrote a whole bunch of negative things lol. But you could right what ever u want if you have too much time on your hands

My quote was a blank line, because I graduated early to get away from that craphole and all its ilk...

My quote was stupid and forgettable (had to pick it the day of) but a few years later, I found the one I really would have wanted.

For all his terrible run-on sentences, forced hipness, and awkward slang, I've always liked Jack Kerouac-- not just because all the engineered rebels do, but because he did occasionally have the ability to sum up incredibly complex emotions in precise, beautiful ways.

    To whit:
"What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? --it's the too-huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye.

But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies."

Yep. That hits it on the head, right there.

Edit: Plus, high school chicks will think you're deep.

Pfft, my high school didn't give quotes to everyone. Only the most popular people got theirs in, and they were either cliches, deep stuff they'd gotten from someone else or really stupid.

I've been slacking (unintentionally!) on the only piece of work that I have to do for 1.1 . . . the more I show my head in here, the more my slacking becomes apparent . . .

    Hrm.

I think they should have put this in for the popular people

"I'm about to enter a world where I will get to experience what it feels like to be a complete loser, because nobody cares about who I was in highschool, or if I played on the football team"
  • moultanomoultano Creator of ns_shiva. Join Date: 2002-12-14 Member: 10806Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor, Constellation, NS2 Playtester, Squad Five Blue, Reinforced - Shadow, WC 2013 - Gold, NS2 Community Developer, Pistachionauts
If I had had adequate space, mine would have been, "For we each of us deserve everything, all the luxuries ever piled in the tombs of the dead kings. And we each of us deserve nothing, not a mouthful of bread in hunger. Have we not eaten while others starved? Will you punish us for that? Will you reward us for the virtue of starving while others eat? Free your mind of the idea of deserving, the idea of earning, and you will begin to be able to think." - Ursula K LeGuin

Wellllll . . . I also got a gamecube and was screwing around on that for a bit.

But rest assured, I just pestered Flayra the other day for all the latest files, so I will be proving once again that I am terrible at this game in the very near future.

Mine was "Build a man a fire and he is warm for the evening. Set a man on fire and he is warm for the rest of his life" by I don't remember who

A friend of mine wanted to do "God gave man a brain and a **** and not enough blood to operate both at the same time" - Robin Williams, but couldn't. Another guy brought the house down with "Confucius say - man who fishes in other's hole often catches crabs".

But whatever you do, PLEASE don't recycle that tired old Einstein, "Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the former." It's a great one, but everyone's heard it a hundred times (well, at my old highschool many many generations of graduates used it).

My first thought (which will be completely incomprehensible to most people) is:

QUOTE

TURRENTS!!!!11

    Other then that:

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Show him the internet and he won't bother you for weeks.

Superiority is not being better then someone else. True superiority is becoming better then your former self.

i want mine to be something as funny as, but funnier, wittier, and clevererer, as:

"repetetive lessons are like being stuck inside a transsexual frog with herpes, aids, diabetes, two pink jumpers and a stick. not altogether enjoyable and not really neccessary."

Not a tradition over here, but how about :

Now I know where you all live.

    Or

Dave from phys ed owes me $20

    Or

No matter how good you think you look now, in 20 years time, you'll look back and think what a freak you were.

    Or

    You'll never take me alive.

    Or

You'll never know what I do with your photos.

Personally, I'd go with something along the lines of 'Aim just to the left of the seventh vertebra', or 'Scary monkey!'.
Perhaps 'One taco this year was full of baby goodness'. That one could be disturbing on many levels, if you pause and think about it past the obvious.

Someone actually managed to get this one into the senior yearbook, when I was a junior:
"Confucius say - Man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day long."
