I was wondering with the release of Half-Life 2 coming September 30... Will NS move ? The article on CNN <a href='http://money.cnn.com/2003/04/23/commentary/game_over/column_gaming/index.htm' target='_blank'>Here</a> talks about the same ability to mod as the original Half-life.. When it is released will there be any consideration on moving over? From what I've seen the graphics are greatly improved and this could be great for the mod.

    Well we shouldn't take September 30 as the actual release date. But I would love to see where ns could go with state of the art graphics. But they would have to code it all over and that would probably take a long time. But atleast so-far there has been a few discussions about changing ns to the ut2k engine, but the player-base for hl is so overwhelming, and other good things about the hl engine have ended the discussion in the flaming of the poster, and atlest no plans have been released.

    i've seen it posted/heard it said(no specific times, or places, though, so i may be making this up) that the dev team has no plans to move the mod. i can see why they'd do that*cough cough lazy* heh, but that's cool with me, i'll play it whatever happens, so good...so good...

    Even if they used all the same entities with no upgrading, I would still like to see it on the new engine. It could take advantage of the real-time lighting.

    That's if, of course, they can import the current entities without trouble (:O)
