<div class="IPBDescription">Just starting out</div> Right. I am a nebie mapper of 2 (ish) days. I've made up already a rr, and one of the rooms in a map I'm making. The map I plan to make is a exploration ship which picks up a hostile life form <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> . Anyway Here are a few pictures. The first two are of the ready room, the second two are of the medical bay.

I am going to add some more detail. Thanks for the encouragement.
You've obviously got a good grasp of how to get around in Hammer already, which you'll be able to expand your skills in once you get a few weeks of experience under your belt. And if you spend enough time lurking around the Mapping forum, you'll find a lot of good suggestions, hints, and methods already posted that you can apply to your current and future maps.
One hint you could possibly try to apply to your existing rooms - just mess with the lighting (<i>ie: make it a bit darker, and mess with the gamma</i>). IMO, it's the lighting that will make or break a map. Layout and architecture are way up there on the list as well, but it's the lighting and ambience that will usually get us forum zombies drooling when a mapper posts screenshots of his/her latest project.
Good luck! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yeah I thought it would be a bit worrying to have one of those normally in a medical bay

I reallise now that my map so far is too bright, I will now try to correct that.
