How do you make icons? With what program do you make them? WHat does it have to be, BMP, JPG, GIF?

Practically, any help on how i do icons...

Personally, I use Photoshop to make them, and they have to be .gifs btw, so the program you use has to be able to save .gifs.

i used to use this program called MicroAngelo (or something along that line) it allows u to make Icons, cursor or animated Cursors, and even .dll icon libraries!

In the "mean"time with photoshop... How do i make the gifs icons?

Edit: Acrobad, In microangelo, how do i make a color transparent? Like it is now, the white colour around a command console won't be transparent so you see the white colour all the time... Do you understand what i just said? I didn't...

ok well, i tryed the test virsion of microangelo, then i bought it, and i have to tell you, its one bad arse program. its incredable powerful and you can do just about anything with the icons (i made my animated)

okay... But how do you make something transparent in Windows XP?

Don't worry.. It's fixed now.. Man! That program is powerfull. I've registered it too <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> (and to tell you the truth, i've never been so impressed by a program that i've ever registered something.)
