<div class="IPBDescription">exactly how does it work?</div> I understand that carapace gives you more armor points and that it decreases the amount of damage that you take, but exactly how much does it help?

this is the best of my understanding, although i may not be 100% correct, the overall point of "cara helps" remains intact.

when you get hit a percentage of the damage goes to armor and a percentage goes to HP, armor can take double, so if 20 went to HP and 10 went to armor you would see your HP drop by 20 and your armor drop by 5.

carapace increases your total armor AND increases the percentage it takes.

here is an example with made up numbers. no cara 70/10 skulk could take one pistol bullet: 15 damage to health and 2 damage to armor because his armor only sucks up about 10% of the pistol bullet, then if he had cara; 70/30 skulk would take 10 damage to health and 5 damage to armor because the cara makes it suck up more, so in effect cara lets you take a lot more bullets.

some peopel say a fade without cara at 200/125 isnt much worse off than a fade at 200/150 full cara, but eh fact is that the fades armor will take a huge percentage more of the damage with cara, so in reality the difference is immense.

the crapace will increase the damage the armor absorbs and gives a small bonus(which really helps out for skulks/lerks) of 25AP.correct me if i'm wrong. a new player will mostly(can't blame 'em for it,regen sounds better than seemingly only 25AP) think regen is better till he accidently get cara and discovers this(at least thats how i discovered it)
