<div class="IPBDescription">Over at natural-selection.org</div>I recently downloaded it.. umm, I have two questions:

1: why does it sound -very- DoD-ish? =/
(I was a little disappointed)

2: Flayra keeps talking about NS atmosphere, what fits in and not.. then I listened to these sounds and hear these echoes in about every sound ?.. sounds as if they are in a large large valley or enourmous room.. Wouldnt it be better to make these sounds without the echo, then let mappers decide echoes or whatever env_sound we want? =/..

I'm just asking cuz it all seems so..not worked through, wich is different, very different for the NS team(flayra & CO ). But, I know I haven't heard the sounds in game, but listening at them like this just... nah.. it can be alot better =/ (IMO offcourse)..

/me expected some heavy turretsounds and more space feel to the ricochet & gun sounds.

it's not at all a complaint, but it got me wondering.

Well, the turrent guns do sound like dod -- in a way -- a small way.  But a gun is a gun -- that sound fits what a turent would sound like.  You dont want this massive BOOM BANG DING! sound for a small turrent.  About the echo's -- I think that ric2 is very good but I think ric1 would sound a lot better w/o that bullet going into the water (or flesh?).  They sound the same becuase they are guns.  The NS team really does not want "laser" guns or anything - so I dont know how you could make a gun that shoots a bullet sound different from any other mod.  Plus, in game, I bet they work very well.

from what I've heard, the playtesters find them extremely well done and fit in perfectly

The echoing on many of the sounds has been reduced, I had the same complaint.  I'm sorry you don't really like the sounds.

There are a way to improve the turretsounds, make themm..chunkier, but still as they sound from a light gun..

try the avp 1 n 2 or that other...gah, whats its name =/.. anywho

I liked the sounds, it was the echoes that was a little disapointing
