Alien interaction

probably a useless thread, but is there anything more to be told about the aliens and their interaction?  We know of the hive mind and that sounds will be created for the marines to hear when they communicate... anything more beyond that?

    im not exactly shrue of ur psot but alians dont comunicate (hopfully they type in team chat)since they can see each other through walls (how many wallz?)

    'Aside' from hivesight, Voice comm, in-game chat and menu based communications, there is no other means of alien communication I'd know of.

    but aside from radar, Voice comm, in-game chat and menu based communications, there's no other communications for the marines either. flayra hasn't gotten off his arse to code telepathy in! hehe

    Hivesight is such a powerful addition that it makes wordless communication between aliens possible. If you hear that a hive is under attack, without a singlie word from your teammates and without even knowign your way around, you can follow the magic icon till you get there. This applies to fellow aliens under attack also. And it's quite likely that Flay will be implementing other aspects to hive sight also. Just dont keep your figners crossed on the telepathy. Of course . . . No hive sight will stop me with my trusty shotty  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> . heh heh heh

    Ok, just a refresher for people who TRULY don't understand the hivesight, i will explain.

    First off, the hivesight is not something like wallhack or anything, it just shows the general position, and area of the marines and such, for the marine part, any alien that can SEE a marine, all the other aliens will be able to see it through the wall by a small blip, getting farther away as the farther it is.  Once the alien dies however, no more blip.  Now, for the second half, all the buildings in the alien team are linked to the hive sight, so if your hives under attack, a noticable dot apears on your screen, you run there fast to save it <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> Now if its like a smaller building, like a chamber, it also shows up ,so you can know were they are coming from and etc.  All of this is STC, but i hope you guys understand better now. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    so...  with this...  you can do a wall of useless buildings to provide cover, and when they're all under attack you'd know so you can rush back and attack them all from behind....

    Not so much... *no* building can be tossed aside as "useless" in NS.  Resource points are hard to come by, and if you squander them, you lose.  That simple.

    Q: Is the icon changing when an alien/alien structure is under attack?
    i.e. A lvl2 is under attack. Is it's icon flashing, or do you notice the attack by seeing a marine blip next to the alien blip?

    The icon changes color whenever an alien or building is under attack.  It turns from an orangish red to a more pinkish color to indicate the attack.
