Alien regen time
During a massive gameplay of at least 16 people on a lan, the alien team experienced a butt whooping of great magnitude due to the slow regen rate of their creatures. They thought that it was unfair and ultimately futile in their desire to win the game. So in light of that, I was wondering what the creators thoughts were behind this and if anyone else has experienced something similar.

P.S. The above is the original post, for those of you wondering what I was saying (i.e.) alien spawning versus the regeneration of health, I was referring to the regen of health. Sorry for the confusion.

as for regen, i'm assuming u mean regeneration of health (a defense upgrade) not regeneration in terms of respawning.
i always get carapace as aliens. its all up to each individual. its a good idea to get 3 DCs if u want maximum power on the defense upgrades. carapace is for skulks (cuz they die easily anyway) and aliens with support (gorge or dc) whereas regen is good for the guerilla tactics.

Umbra the Hive

Have Gorge Health Spray the Hive

Surround Hive With Defence Chambers

Keep Them Out of the Hive With OC's Around Hive Room

As for other creatures, I never use regen. Fades get redeem, lerks need carapace, onos.. who gets to play as one these days, really.
I often find I have trouble running away fast enough even with carapace.

Hahah don't run use blink. I always use blink. Walking is for chumps.
As long as you're in no danger what-so-ever.
If you're being shot at however, it activates a small program. It keeps track of your health, the amount of bullets flying in the air towards you, the proximity and number of enemies etc. The higher these numbers become (inversed for health) the more likely your blink is to either get you stuck in a wall, grid, invisible hat-stand, or simply not work at all.¨

LOL. SO true...so true. Actually, maybe it's just because you were panicking a bit I dunno? anyways, to answer his question, aliens structures don't regenerate themselves at all except for the hive. You need D chambers to actually heal structures, or have a gorge do it.
Observatory + MT = Not so deadly anymore
Well i usually take celerity for fade. I can attack very fast and run away too.
But if they have HA/hmg, then i choose adrealine.
Otherwise, you end up being fodder.
like all upgrades, it all depends on your playing style, not skill. some people like to run in, get as many frags as they can and run out with the aid of carapace. others like to stick to vents, pop in, pop out and regen. it doesnt take much skill to do either, but those with skill will be more successful.
also, carapace is great if u have a supporting gorge or some d towers in proximity - the havoc u can wreak in situations like that (which arise from good teamwork and good playing) is amazing.
Regen cloaked fades are creepy. Just camp the marine entrance and wait for the claw softening meat to come to you. Chuckling can give your position away , while the regen sound is generic enough to be ignored at first , then feared as it becomes louder (when you wait at their armory for exemple)
Should nasty marines hurt you bad enough , blink away a little , pretend to flee before them and all of a sudden charge them as soon as you have enough HPs.
