    Man, I read this problem everywhere in the forums and I still don't know how to fix it. Some say if the server has CD (Cheating-Death) that is what causes it. Other's say you have to download the server patch to fix it.

    I don't know if it will fix it.

    i've encountered this problem many times before.

    firstly, i must ask if you have only loaded Natural Selection once while you tried this. at first, reloading HL fixed my problem
    Secondly, do you have any other Half-Life mods installed? That was a part of my problem as well.

    I suggest that you first restart your computer and reload HL.
    If that doesn't work, i'll see what i can do to use your mods to fix this problem. if you have Counter-Strike, try loading that, then unloading it and then loading Natural Selection.
    More desperately, install halflife on a seperate drive (if you have one, otherwise make a folder called c:/games/SIERRA/Half-Life/), and install ONLY Natural Selection on it.
    Try installing with only the MINIMAL programs. Ctrl+ALT+delete the other useless background crap.
    lastly, a truly desparate measure is to clear out Half-Life, manually delete the registry keys for it, and try from scratch. I WOULD NOT DO THIS UNLESS IT IS APPARENT YOU MUST.

    hope this helps and i hear from you soon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I had the same problem and it took me awhile to find the answer. When going from a CD server to a non CD server will cause this error. I always have to restart before going on to a different server. Once you are go on a server with CD thats it your stuck. Maybe this is version related.

    Details:
    I connect to a server and as soon as I join a team I will be about to spawn then I get disconnected with that error messege in the console.

    If I can get a few people to independently verify this, I will sticky this as the resolution at the top of the tech forums. Great troubleshooting!

    i tried joining a cd server with cd active, and then switching to a server by way of disconnect, connect to new, and got no error. in fact, i played several fairly good games <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i'll continue testing this when my phriggin school figures out that i only have 10 days left and lessens the work load...

    Try connecting to CD servers WITHOUT CD
    And then connecting to other servers
    See how that works
