<div class="IPBDescription">Starting to dislike the ns community</div> Well I just got back from playing on ns_ninja_fall (annoying, because marines build behind that damn wall). First, we were doing normal, gorge got 3 rts, then 2 D chambers. Then he started saving for the hive, while another gorge built OCs as they just got jps and were making their advance. Eventually blah blah blah hmgs totally anihilate the hive. So the team starts whining
"N00B GORGE!"
"SO-AND-SO SHOULD'VE BEEN THE GORGE!"
"WE LOST BECAUSE OF YOU GORGE!"
"HE DIDNT USE WEBS!"
"YEA WEBS ARE USEFULL, HE DIDNT USE ANY"
(the last two were when we still only had one hive, nubs)
So I get totally **** and start yelling at them that it wasent the gorge fault, it was all of ours! Eventually they keep whining
"no it was the gorges fault!"
"yea!"
So...whatever...I go into readyroom, go on marines this time. So the aliens rush, and own us. Ok, thats fine. Then they do it again...and again...and now im starting to get ****.
"WHAT THE HELL KIND OF FUN DO YOU SEE IN THIS? STOP RUSHING!"
"whiner"
"shutup n00b"
"Well ****, fine, im leaving, if you people want to be lame and end the game in 30 seconds, im not doing that crap"
Then I left before they could call me any other crap names. NS and its players are **** me off too much(includes nubs). Even with experianced comms, the whole team is asking for medpacks, and nobody gets any, no comm seems to understand the voice saying "Press jump to go to the alert" or "Player needs an order". Eventually I end up ramboing or running to the nearest phase when a teammate says somethings going wrong, because my comm won't give me any orders.

Sometimes ill ask for medkits and what not and not be given an order for a while. I figure he forgot about me, and go rambo and find out theyre sieging a hive. Woulda been nice if I had an invite.
And as for the gorges, yes, you can blame the team, but its also the 2nd gorges fault mostly. Hes wasting res on offense chambers. Hes splitting the res the other needs to cap that hive. Having 2 hives like 10 mins into the game is better than 2 hives 16 mins with some offense chambers.
Offense are a waste. A few aliens with some upgrades is better. Umbra lerks, fades, etc.
So I understand your defending him, but he would have been more useful skulking and doing combat and letting the other gorge get all the res.

Welcome to the not-so-wonderful world of gaming. The problem lies in the fact that people are out for themselves. They rarely care how their interactions affect the particpents on the server. With more and more hand-me down computers and lack of sufficent parenting/teaching, you get a lot of disrespectful people. Often is the stereotype "12-year old script kiddy" tossed around, but infact there are a wide range of people who do not care. High school and college kids are just as bad if not worse. They are often left wondering why we care or do what we do.
This trend will only get worse unless there is a defacto standard where the induvidual will be held accountable. The only sanctuary we have are isolated communities, forums, and locked servers. The best we can do is try to be the better person, try to right the wrong and play to the best of our ability. My advice, do the right thing, stick with it, and never back down.

I totally agree with you snoopy - there are far too many idiots playing NS at the moment. Your best bet is to find a good server with decent admins, and just play there all the time. The games start to get really fun when you play with other regulars you know.

I can appreciate some of the forum moderators, and maybe a select few community members, but a good majority of them are morons, and don't deserve any title nor recognition.

Ixion: There are fairly clear <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums.html' target='_blank'>rules</a> for these forums, which you agreed to when you signed up for an account, and we do our best to enforce them as impartially as possible. As has been said many times: if you have an issue with our policies, take it up with the Admins: MonsieurEvil, joev, Spydermonkey, or Comprox. If you have an issue with a specific incident, please PM the moderator involved.
I only started playing 2 days ago. NS itself recommends you play as a marine first, but all experienced players who, by extension, should play as aliens for a more tactically worthwhile game play as marines. Worst of all - I've encountered people on MANY occasions who want to play as marines so much that if I end up as a marine and they don't, they RESTART their game again & again until they play as marines. Which usually ends up with me as an alien. And I play hideously badly as one. Which usually means I end up evolving into a gorge and colonising all resource points to give my fellows almost limitless resources so they can turn into fades and win.

-edit- Ulysses: find a different server, man. Sounds like you've met some less-than-reputable admins. I highly recommend Evolutionarily Challenged's server, and Fists of Ra once 1.1 is released (FoR is currently serving as a 1.1 test server). Do a search (at the bottom of the forum) for "good servers" - there have been a lot of posts about them.

Like we were 3 (french) people playing on the server. This guy joins in and says France sucks, he wants to bomb the eiffel tower and every american hates us.
And not counting the people who camp bonuses, people who abuse the fact that you can't be bumped correctly when in a corner, etc...

Skulk rushings good, but when 8 of you pile into the marine base and chomp away its so weak......
Eveyone just piles in and starts munching till its all gone...end game anothr 30 seconds wasted.....I recognise its a needed tactic, but why do people not get the res down and an ammo dispencer then bail......let the marines recover then do it again....
Ive seen so many people consentrate soley on the base and totaly ignore marines walking past them to re-locate....why dont aliens give the marines a chance ("cough") and concentrate more on making sure they dont re-loacate?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
